Justin Bieber Sings, Dances To Taylor Swift Song: Peace Offering After Selena Gomez War?

Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift have a long and intriguing history, given Justin’s off-again, on-again relationship with Taylor’s best friend Selena Gomez, including the couple known as Jelena’s recent war of words on Instagram. Now Bieber is causing speculation about whether he’s offering an olive branch to Swift and perhaps Selena as well by singing and dancing to one of Taylor’s songs.

MTV News summed up the video of Bieber rocking out to Swift’s song as both “mesmerizing and terrifying.” The Snapchat shows Justin jamming to Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Is it a compliment to Swift, showing that even the Biebs can’t resist jamming to her tune? Some fans responded by tweeting their views on who was better.

“she’s better than him,” argued a Team Taylor member.

“he is better than her,” responded a Team Justin fan.

Hollywood Life also tried to interpret what it described as Justin’s “crazy video on Snapchat of himself shirtless and wearing giant glasses, mouthing the words to Taylor Swift’s ‘I Knew You Were Trouble.'”

Questioning whether Bieber was attempting to “send a message to Taylor,” the media outlet described his antics as “totally bonkers,” but also pointed out that perhaps he just really likes that particular song.

This isn’t the first time that Bieber has chosen one of Swift’s songs to use as a sort of performance piece, however.

In May, E! News noted that during the past several years, there has been an “alleged feud going on between Bieber and Swift.” Rumors of a feud began when Taylor “was caught on camera sticking out her tongue after seeing her BFF Selena Gomez kissing ex-boyfriend Bieber while at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards,” according to the media outlet.

Since that occasion, Justin and Swift reportedly have “kept their distance,” according to E! News, which noted that the Biebs had shared two videos on Instagram showing himself and a pal listening to Taylor’s “Teardrops on My Guitar.” In one of the videos, Bieber sang along, and Swift reportedly liked the post. Some speculated that meant their feud had ended.

But it didn’t help Justin’s relationship with Taylor when he chose to side with Kanye West in the ongoing feud between Swift and West, noted Uproxx on August 2.

Bieber posted a photo on his Instagram in which he was FaceTiming with West. The caption threw shade at Taylor.

“Taylor Swift what up.”

All of this happened before Justin became involved in a war of words with Selena Gomez on Instagram, which ultimately resulted in the deletion of his account.

Bieber, 22, had cautioned his fans that he would privatize his Instagram page if they did not stop their hostility to Sofia Richie, who at the time was his girlfriend, reported Us Weekly.

On the evening of Monday, August 15, Justin first followed through by changing his account to private. Following a backlash from fans, he then completely deleted it. Bieber’s move to exit Instagram followed his epic war of words with Selena.

Gomez had offered her opinions in his battle with his fans. Justin had warned his fans to “stop the hate” or he would make his Instagram private.

“If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only,” posted Selena.

Bieber then reacted to Gomez.

“It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still trying to point the finger this way,” he responded.

Selena then hit back, noting that she found it “funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad.” But Justin had the final word by hinting to their followers that she had cheated with former One Direction star Zayn Malik.

“I cheated… Oh I forgot about You and Zayn?” he reportedly wrote.

With Justin aware that Taylor and Selena are best friends, is his new lip-sync video meant as a sort of olive branch to both? Does he just feel like showing he likes to rock out to that particular tune? Post your views below.
