‘RHONY’ Star Bethenny Frankel Spills Secrets From Her ‘Skinnygirl Books

Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel is known for being a skinny woman. Some people would say that she’s too skinny, but Bethenny reveals that she knows how to eat healthy and knows how to hold back when it comes to cravings and binging. As fans learned on this season of The Real Housewives of New York, Bethenny grew up with a mother who struggled with an eating disorder, so she knows how these disorders and illnesses can affect people, even those living in the same house as the sick person.

According to a new set of tweets, Bethenny Frankel is now dishing out some advice to her Twitter followers about their diets on Thanksgiving weekend. Many people enjoy Thanksgiving, and they eat until they are physically uncomfortable. And Bethenny knows that overeating only results in guilt and shame. To avoid these feelings, Bethenny wanted to help.

“Tomorrow give people anxiety & food noise, so i’m going to toss out some tips to cushion the blow. Cool?” Bethenny tweeted yesterday, as she provided a long list of advice and tips for people who started dishing out tips immediately.

“DO spoil ur appetite. Don’t starve bc of the big meal. Eat ‘good investment’ foods to satisfy to prevent bingeing,” read her first piece of advice, while her second advice was, “DO NOT BINGE. Eat what you love but don’t self loathe. No one ever got fat on fattening foods. They did on a lot of them.”

“Taste Everything, Eat nothing. This doesn’t mean eat nothing. It means have a little of everything but have a plan on ur plate,” Bethenny Frankel continued on Twitter, sharing the same advice that she does in her books about the Skinnygirl lifestyle.

She continued with the fourth piece of advice, explaining, “With all the hors d’oeuvres, use a plate vs just picking & grabbing all day. Again, have a plan & pick ur spots.”

Of course, the Real Housewives of New York star also had some advice for those who are looking forward to drinking alcohol. Bethenny suggested combining booze with protein, adding the occasional club soda or water to the mix to dilute the alcohol a bit. She also suggested eating plenty of protein without the alcohol and eating that first to ensure you get the good foods.

As for desserts, you are allowed to try. Instead of taking one or two big slices of pie, try a little of every dessert available so you don’t have regrets about your choices later on. But serve yourself smaller pieces rather than a big piece of pie. As she explains, allow yourself to try it out instead of depriving yourself. Plus, it’s important you know you when the joy is gone. Don’t eat that extra serving of sweet potato if you aren’t getting joy in return.

“Food is not your best friend nor enemy. You’re nor good if u don’t eat or bad if you do,” Frankel explained as she continued about her advice, adding, “Cancel your membership to the clean plate club-even w healthier foods. Get used to being that person. Downsize. Realize that we live in a culture of 60 oz of soda at a mini mart. Don’t eat your weight in stuffing. Think portions.”

Lastly, Bethenny wanted people to enjoy Thanksgiving, so her last piece of advice was not to overthink things and just enjoy the food, writing, “Enjoy yourself & eat what you love & love yourself. You have so much to be grateful & thankful for. You are beautiful in/out.”

What do you think of Bethenny Frankel’s dining advice for Thanksgiving? Do they help you deal with overeating and food anxiety?
