Yolanda Hadid Faces Backlash Over Comment About Pointing Fingers And Judgements

Yolanda Hadid announced back in the spring that she would not be returning to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Yolanda had shared her marital troubles on the show last season right before the news broke that she and David Foster were divorcing. Hadid has focused on her health since leaving the show behind and she’s been the biggest cheerleader for her children, who have dominated the modeling world. But with fame comes attention and Yolanda is the first to defend her children when they are criticized publicly.

According to a new tweet, Yolanda Hadid is now revealing that she was shocked to see so many people judging her daughter Gigi’s impersonation of future First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump. Of course, Gigi is far from the first person to mock the recent election results, but she faced a lot of criticism after her performance at the AMAs this week. And her mother decided to write a tweet about finger-pointing and judgments.

“The road of life is rocky and you may stumble too, so while you point your finger, someone else is judging you…….. #BobMarley #RightOn,” Yolanda Hadid wrote on Twitter this week after her daughter Gigi Hadid was highly criticized for impersonating future First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.

Maybe Yolanda didn’t think about how the impersonation as being something bad. But her daughter was severely judged to the point where she decided to write an apology letter, sharing that the performance was actually a condensed version of what the writers really wanted her to do. But people still felt it was wrong to insult someone, who will soon be known as the president’s wife.

“Right. But Gigi Hadid was the one judging Melania Trump’s intelligence real hard at the #AMAs,” one person wrote to Yolanda Hadid about her comment, while another person added on Twitter, “It was classless to insult our future 1st lady.”

“If someone did this to our current First Lady, Michelle Obama, we’d all be crying racism. Its just not right in any case,” one person wrote to Yolanda Hadid, pointing out that no matter what Gigi did it would have been wrong, while another person defended Trump, writing, “Gigi knew exactly was she was doing. Mocking an immigrant who will be the First Lady. A smart lady who speaks five languages.”

Maybe it was Yolanda Hadid who encouraged her daughter to write an apology letter for her actions, as it didn’t take long for people to lash out for the performance. And people are even criticizing Yolanda for talking about finger-pointing and judgement when her own daughter was the one who supposedly insulted a lot of people and possibly Melania herself. Gigi’s apology letter can be found on her social media, but she wrote that Trump hopefully understood the skit and that she didn’t mean to offend anyone with the impersonation.

“I was honored to host the AMA’s last night and to work with some of the best-respected writers in the business. I removed or changed anything in the script that I felt took the joke too far, and whether or not you choose to see it, what remained was done in good humor and with no bad intent,” Gigi Hadid wrote in a handwritten apology letter, which she shared on social media earlier this week, adding, “I believe Melania understands show business and the way shows are written and run. I apologize to anyone that I offended and have only the best wishes for our country.”

What do you think of Yolanda Hadid’s tweet? Are you surprised that she’s defending her daughter when Gigi clearly offended people?
