John Legend Reacts To Chrissy Teigen’s AMA Wardrobe Malfunction

Sunday’s AMA awards were full of A-list celebrity appearances and performances, but there is one thing that seems to be highlight of the evening — Chrissy Teigen’s wardrobe malfunction.

On Sunday, Teigen and her hubby, John Legend, attended the American Music Awards (AMAs) together. While John sported black pants and a black shirt, along with a snazzy jacket, Chrissy donned a full-length black Yousef Akbar gown with a slit up to her rib-cage. Although the dress was a bit risque, Teigen seemed to have it under control — that is until the wardrobe malfunction happened. While standing on the red carpet with her hubby, Chrissy accidentally flashed her “hooha.”

The following day, Teigen jokingly apologized for the malfunction, and gave a shout out to her stylist and laser hair removal specialist.

“#AMAs! love you so so so much @jenatkinhair @1maryphillips @monicarosestyle @kimmiekyees (apologies to anyone harmed mentally or physically by my hooha) dress is #yousefakbar and shoes are @dsquared2 and laser hair removal is @sevlaseraesthetics,” Chrissy captioned a collage of photos of her wearing the infamous dress.

Although she apologized for the incident, Twitter trolls had more to say about her choice of outfits. Teigen, of course, was able to hold her own, and fired back at those who were throwing insults her way.

“Could’ve just worn pants,” a fan named Alivia tweeted, to which Chrissy responded, “Well, Alivia, hindsight is 20/20. Just like your mom when she named you with an ‘A’ instead of an ‘O.'” Alivia wasn’t the least bit offended; she was actually pretty excited to get a diss from the Sports Illustrated model. “Getting Roasted by Chrissy. One more thing checked off the bucket list! @chrissyteigen THANK U ??,” she responded.

“What happened to being a lady?” another Twitter user named Sean wrote about the new mom.

“I am pretty sure you could clearly see I’m a lady,” Teigen responded.

“No, you’re a woman, not a lady,” he wrote. “A lady doesn’t speak like you do or dress that way.”

Teigen then gave her best, and most sarcastic response yet: “I wake up every day just wanting to please you. So, I’m so sorry I disappointed you. I don’t know what I can say, but wow I apologize. I didn’t mean it to happen, I’m sorry Sean, I’m sorry.”

Teigen wasn’t the only one to speak out after her dress issue. While speaking to Extra’s Tracey Edmonds, Legend also spoke about the incident.

“The photographer had to get the exact perfect angle,” he said. “If people are enticed or excited by that, that’s their thing, it’s just a moment in time that was captured on film. I love the dress and I thought it was great. Honestly, we were worried there might be that moment, so we checked it. We were watching her walk. I was like, ‘It looks good. Looks like all is well.’ But obviously, if a photographer is resourceful enough they can find that one moment.”

While at the AMAs, Teigen also spoke about President-elect Donald Trump. Teigen and Legend were both very vocal about their support for Hillary Clinton, and were outraged when Trump won the election. As she introduced her husband’s performance of his new song “Love Me Now,” Teigen said: “His songs are bigger than either of us. And on the heels of what’s been a really interesting, f***ed up election for all of us, I think we could all use a little more love.”
