Shooting At Atlanta Megachurch, One Dead, Police Searching For Shooter


At least one person was shot on Wednesday morning at the suburban Atlanta megachurch run by pastor Creflo Dollar.

The church holds a Wednesday morning service, but officials have not yet revealed if the shooting happened during a scheduled service.

Police are currently searching the area for the gunman whose identity has not yet been revealed.

The shooting took place inside a chapel at the World Changers church in College Park, Georgia.

WXIA reports that CPR was performed on the victim who later died at the hospital from injuries inflicted during the shooting. The identity of the victim has not been revealed at this time.

The megachurch claims to have more than 30,000 members among its congregation.

Creflo Dollar is no stranger to controversy on his own. The pastor recently came under fire after being arrested for assaulting his own 15-year-old daughter. Creflo completely denied hitting his child and was later released.

The megachurch claims various satellite churches around the country including a 6,000 member congregation in New York City.
