‘RHOA’ Star Kandi Burruss’ Ex, Block, Says They And Riley Are One Happy Family

The latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta showed Kandi Burruss being visited by the girlfriend of her ex and daughter Riley’s father, Russell “Block” Spencer. The girlfriend, Kris Kelli, spoke to Kandi about Block’s estranged relationship with Riley, expressing hope that Block could soon have a real relationship with Riley.

The visit took Kandi by surprise and later led to a tearful conversation with co-star Sheree where Kandi expressed hesitation about letting Block in Riley’s life. Kandi also let out all of the hurt and disappointment that both she and Riley have felt through the years because of Block’s disinterest in Riley. Meanwhile, in their own scene, Block and Kris gave their own version of what happened, with Kris saying that Kandi “iced” Block out of Riley’s life.

After the episode aired, Block spoke up about his relationship with Kandi and Riley on his Instagram page. He posted an old photo of himself with Kandi and Riley. In his caption, Block wrote that they’re one happy family. Block sent the post directly to Kandi and Riley’s Instagram accounts.

Block’s post received a lot of negative comments. Viewers made it clear that they believed Kandi’s version of events. They bashed Block for not being a part of Riley’s life and told him that he needs to get his act together. Several people pointed out that the photo is an old one and that Block’s social media accounts hardly show any other photos of Riley. Some people also accused Block of signing himself and his girlfriend up for the show behind Kandi’s back just to get some self-promotion, not caring that Riley is now getting publicly dragged into the show’s drama.

Yet, some people did stick up for Block. Some fans pointed out that Kandi is getting paid to do the show and could have quit if she really didn’t want her and Riley’s drama with Block to be a storyline. Others expressed hope that Block will now step up and be a proper father. In response to one viewer who told Block that he’ll be a good father and hopes that everything will work out, Block wrote that the show is scripted and that viewers need to wait until the end of the season to see it all come together.

Is Russell “Block” Spencer saying that his relationship with Riley and Kandi Burruss is actually fine but that things are being made up/exaggerated just for The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s ratings? In an Instagram post that Kandi posted as the episode aired, Kandi sure made it seem that Riley still has no relationship with Block. Kandi wrote that if Block wants a relationship with Riley, who has put a wall up, then he’s going to need to humble himself and do what it takes to fix things. Kandi ended her post by asking viewers for their advice.

In her blog post recapping the episode, Kandi wrote that Block has never stepped up to be a father to Riley and has always been very flaky. Kandi added that Riley is now over her father’s behavior.

“My daughter is special to me. I never wanted her not to have a real father figure, but Block for whatever reason has never really stepped up to be the father Riley deserves. He’s always been very flaky. He’ll call and say he’s going to do better and then you don’t hear from him for months at a time. Riley used to be sad about it, but now she’s just over it. “

Kandi also maintained that she never wanted her and Riley’s drama with Block to be a part of the show. However, Block “came out of nowhere with this bulls**t,” suggesting that he and Kris Kelli signed on to do the show and filmed without her prior knowledge and consent. Kandi also accused Block of telling Kris, an entertainer under Block’s label and management, lies.

“I honestly never wanted this to be seen on the show. I hate the whole baby daddy/baby mama drama, but here he comes out of nowhere with this bullsh–… It tripped me out to hear Kris Kelli say to Lena and RL that we’ve been blocking Block out. I was like, “What???!!!” He’s clearly been giving her some bogus story.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kandi revealed on Twitter that she didn’t even know that Kris was going to see her to discuss Block’s relationship with Riley. Kandi’s manager, DonJuan Clark, outright accused Block and Kris of trying to get their 10 minutes of fame. Kris, meanwhile, maintained on her own Instagram account that she was just trying to fix Block’s relationship with Riley.

A preview for next week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta shows that things will get even more heated in regards to Kandi’s drama with Block. It shows Kandi’s mom, Mama Joyce, letting loose on what she really thinks of her granddaughter’s father. Mama Joyce yells that Block doesn’t pay child support.

“I would say, ‘Did you bring a check?’ Because you know he owes pretty much close to $50,000. Now which would he rather have, a lien on his house or his driver’s license taken?”

Kandi says that she doesn’t want to make it a money thing and that the money doesn’t even bother her at this point. When Mama Joyce tells Kandi that she’s being taken advantage of because she’s so sweet, Kandi admits that every time she hears Block bragging about how much money he has, she wants to publicly blast him for not paying child support. Mama Joyce yells that Kandi needs to publicly blast him and keep him away from Riley if he doesn’t pay up.

“Now don’t you know what your mama would’ve did? You should’ve said, ‘Holla! Your ass don’t pay damn child support!’ Yes you can do it! He is gonna pay it or else he’ll keep doing like he been doing. Keep his a** away.”

In her confessional interview, Kandi says that Block is successful in the entertainment industry and has money. She then accused him of lying about how much he made when their last child support order was made and now not paying that low amount.

Another preview shows Kandi Burruss, with Mama Joyce by her side, yelling at Russell “Block” Spencer on the phone that he better “chase” Riley.

“You said you not gonna chase me or Riley? Tell me you ain’t gonna chase my child, you should chase her!”
