Angelina Jolie Makes First Post-Divorce Appearance As She Reportedly Struggles To Keep Her Kids Happy In Malibu

Angelina Jolie has just made her first post-divorce appearance.

As her custody and divorce battle with Brad Pitt continues, Angelina Jolie is getting back to her passion for human rights and recently made a speech for the International Criminal Court, where she took a stand against child abuse.

“Successful prosecution and new legal benchmark, whether at the ICC or elsewhere is part of the long and vital generational effort… That is the light in which I believe the court’s new policy on children should be seen,” Angelina Jolie explained to her audience, according to a report by Hello Magazine.

“I particularly welcome the commitment to include charges for crimes against children wherever the evidence permits as part of a more systematic approach,” she continued. “I congratulate the office of the chief prosecutor, and all those working on the policy.”

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt on September 19, and shortly thereafter, the 52-year-old actor was accused of child abuse due to an alleged fight between him and their oldest son, Maddox, 15, earlier that month.

Although an investigation into the claims against Brad Pitt continued on for several weeks, he was eventually cleared of charges by the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family services earlier this month. As a report by TMZ revealed weeks ago, the end of the case meant a major step in the right direction for Pitt, who is reportedly hoping to gain joint custody of his children, despite Jolie’s request for full custody of the kids.

“The Dept. reached the decision… Brad did NOT commit child abuse during an argument that ended with physical contact,” the outlet revealed to readers.

During the investigation, Angelina Jolie, her estranged husband, and their kids were allegedly interviewed by authorities due to claims that were reportedly relayed by Jolie herself.

While Angelina Jolie has returned to her humanitarian efforts, she is reportedly struggling to keep her kids happy at their rented home in Malibu, California.

“Angelina Jolie has been struggling with keeping the kids happy,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “It’s been weeks since the kids moved out of their home and they are getting homesick. The children are sad, miss the huge house they grew up in, and have been complaining to Angelina that they want to go home. The older children are not happy with the situation while the younger kids are having trouble understanding why they can’t just go home.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt traveled around the globe with their children throughout their marriage, but when it came to their home base, the children reportedly felt most comfortable at their home in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. As the outlet explained, Angelina Jolie’s kids spent the majority of their time at the home while growing up and often enjoyed the luxury of their own skate ramp in their yard, as well as their own rooms.

“The kids are so depressed and Angelina is scrambling to do anything and everything to cheer them up,” another source explained to Hollywood Life. “Her first tactic was showing them as much love as possible — more hugs, more compliments, more affection, letting them sleep in her bed and stay up late, but that was not getting her anywhere.”

After reportedly attempting to give her kids extra love and attention, Angelina Jolie allegedly resorted to giving her kids tons of gifts. According to the report earlier this month, Angelina Jolie allowed her 11-year-old daughter, Zahara, whom she adopted from Ethiopia years ago, to log onto her favorite online stores and purchase whatever she wanted. Meanwhile, she was said to have taken her twins, Vivienne and Knox, 8, on a toy shopping spree while her oldest sons, Maddox, 15, and Pax, 12, were given gadgets and electronics.
