Kim Kardashian Skips First Event Since Robbery For Hospitalized Kanye West: Some Fans Predict Split

Ever since her terrifying robbery, Kim Kardashian has kept a low profile. But she finally scheduled her first public appearance since that frightening incident, with Kim planning to honor her late father Robert Kardashian at a gala event called the Angel Ball.

Kim planned her first public appearance after her Paris robbery last month for what ET described as an “especially meaningful event.” Kardashian was set to attend the Angel Ball in New York City on Monday, joined by her mom Kris Jenner and two sisters, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian.

The event included honoring Kim’s, Khloe’s and Kourtney’s deceased dad, Robert Kardashian, and is designed to pay homage to people who made a difference in cancer research both in terms of philanthropic and humanitarian contributions. Robert passed away in 2003 from esophageal cancer.

A source told ET that Kim had not planned to do interviews at the event, but was anticipated to pose for photos inside the Angel Ball. Not present at the event, however, was Rob Kardashian, who recently welcomed his first baby with fiancee Blac Chyna.

Since her frightening robbery in Paris, Kim has maintained a low profile. She made a return to Instagram last week, following selected celebrities such as Ariana Grande and Paris Hilton, but remained silent in contrast to her previous high participation in social media. As for when the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 36, will discuss the robbery, an insider told ET that it probably will take place in a magazine interview.

“Kim is not looking to monetize from this incident and do a big interview that will be solely focused on this incident,” emphasized the insider.

“[Kim] doesn’t want to relive this again. She is truly in no rush to get back into the spotlight.”

Kardashian’s family hopes that Kim “can recover from this,” added the source. Although they are giving the reality TV star “space,” they also are supporting her “whenever she needs.”

ET also noted that there is “drama brewing when it comes to Kim’s husband, Kanye West.” He made what the media outlet described as “bizarre rants” at recent shows, canceled the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour, and cut short a concert on Saturday in Sacramento, California, after only 30 minutes.

People magazine reported that Kim skipped her appearance at the Angel Ball because of West, who was hospitalized in Los Angeles for what the media outlet described as “exhaustion.”

Although Kardashian did not attend the gala, which would have been her first public event since the robbery, which included being gagged, tied up, held at gunpoint and robbed of what is estimated to be “millions of dollars of jewelry,” both Kourtney and Khloe, along with Kris, were present.

Kardashian did land in New York, but then promptly “turned around after learning Kanye was suffering with a medical complaint,” according to Billboard.

Hospitalized on Monday, West was “put under observation” at a hospital in the Los Angeles area, noted the media outlet, citing a source who said the rapper had been experiencing exhaustion along with sleep deprivation. Kanye chose to head to the hospital “of his own will and under the consultation of his physician,” according to that insider.

Kim’s mom Kris was asked how the couple was doing during the gala event that she attended along with Khloe and Kourtney.

“They’re good,” said Jenner.

But some fans aren’t so convinced that Kardashian and West can survive all of the drama, pointed out Hollywood Life, which cited Twitter users who are “predicting a split.”

“Kanye was checked into the UCLA Medical Center, reportedly to be treated for sleep deprivation,” reported the media outlet. “Now, fans are worried that this will effect his relationship with his wife Kim Kardashian.”

One Twitter user suggested a bet.

“Kim about to divorce Kanye watch..” predicted another.

One person even had a prediction about what Kardashian would do, predicting that Kim would go “for Drake.”

When it comes to predictions about the timeline, several foresaw a split in 2017.

“I don’t know why but I feel like Kim and Kanye are gonna split soon. Like come January…,” tweeted one

But others thought it might take longer.

As for the state of West’s health, People magazine cited a source who clarified his issues, and that insider said his issues are not related to Kim, although Kardashian’s robbery “didn’t help.”

West “feels like he’s under spiritual attack,” said the source.

“[West is] dealing with a lot more subtle issues.”

The insider noted that West’s mom passed away in November, and although Donda died in November 2007, he “sometimes will talk about how hard this time of year is for him,” adding that he “works through the pain every November.”

Kardashian’s husband is “physically exhausted from lack of sleep [and] also emotionally and spiritually tired,” according to People.

The source emphasized that West is not “one to run away from these things,” but instead “leans in and listens.” As a result, the insider shared that the rapper “comes away a stronger, better man,” and although it “hurts him,” that is “where growth comes from.”
