Will Selena Gomez Resume Her ‘Revival World Tour’ After Completing Rehab?

Selena Gomez canceled her “Revival World Tour” midway through the concert series in August, but will she soon return to her previously canceled shows?

While the 24-year-old singer, who recently made her first post-rehab appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards, has not yet announced her future plans, a new report claims Selena Gomez is considering resuming her tour.

“[Selena Gomez] is considering resuming her ‘Revival World Tour’ after the stellar [2016 American Music Awards],” a source told Hollywood Life. “She is feeling much better and misses the connection with her fans that she gets every time she steps on stage. Selena has been discussing her next move with her family and management team who are encouraging her not to rush back to work.”

According to the report, the warm reception from her fans at the 2016 American Music Awards has led Selena Gomez to contemplate an even bigger return to the spotlight. However, at this time, nothing is set in stone.

“[Selena Gomez] loves her fans so much and wants to share with them as soon as she is strong enough to perform again,” the source added.

Selena Gomez first announced the cancellation of her tour in August after a show in Auckland, New Zealand, and after a highly publicized feud with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” Selena Gomez explained in a statement to People Magazine on August 30. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”

“I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off,” she continued. “Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.”

After her statement was released, Selena Gomez stayed under the radar for several weeks before photos began to surface of her in Tennessee. In October, photos and video of Selena Gomez at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Alcoa, Tennessee, were shared on Twitter and Instagram.

When Selena Gomez first announced the end of her “Revival World Tour,” many suspected her decision was made after she became upset about her public fight with Bieber. As fans will recall, Selena Gomez told Bieber to stop sharing photos of his then-girlfriend Sofia Richie after he took aim at his fans for being mean to her and was accused of using him for attention. Then, after firing back at Bieber and telling fans he cheated multiple times, Selena Gomez was accused of possibly cheating on him with Zayn Malik before Bieber deleted his Instagram account.

During Sunday night’s awards show, Selena Gomez nabbed the award for Best Female Pop/Rock Artist, and during her acceptance speech, she opened up about her decision to reportedly seek treatment in rehab.

“I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside…I kept it together enough where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together, to where I let myself down,” she explained.

Selena Gomez’s moving speech was one of the biggest stories of the night and led to public support from celebrities including Lady Gaga and Niall Horan.
