Kate Gosselin Gets Candid About Child Abuse Allegations And Jon’s Constant Lawsuit Threats

Kate Gosselin is speaking out about the headline-making child abuse allegations against her as well as ex-husband Jon Gosselin’s never-ending threats to take her back to court to force her to reveal where their son Collin is.

In a sit-down interview with Good Morning America’s Amy Rohrbach, the Kate Plus 8 star said she would do anything for her eight children — and that includes facing off against her ex in court to defend herself against false allegations regarding their children. Still, Kate’s not holding her breath waiting for a court summons.

Kate divorced Jon Gosselin in 2009, leaving her as a single mom to 16-year-old twins Mady and Cara and 12-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Leah, Hannah, Aaden, Joel, and Collin. While her son Collin was recently sent off to a treatment facility to get help for educational and behavioral issues, Kate said the move “had to happen” based on his doctor’s orders. Mama Gosselin said she is in contact with her son, but that it is not the same as having him at home. Kate also downplayed reports that Collin told staff members at the facility that he was abused by his mom.

“I’m in the public eye,” Kate told GMA. “I have been investigated many times… It’s always unfounded obviously.”

Kate also addressed her ex-husband’s claims that he hasn’t seen Collin for nearly two years and that she refuses to tell him where their son is. Gosselin reiterated that she and Jon have been ordered not to speak about their child custody agreement in detail, but she did tease why he may not be privy to the information.

“I’ve known all along where [Collin] is,” Kate said. “But the world doesn’t know. And I’ll leave it at that.”

Last week, Kate Gosselin told People that Collin has special needs and that the decision was made to send him away so that he can “learn the skills he needs to be the best him he can be.” Kate seems confident that it was the right decision for her family.

In the GMA interview, Kate went on to say that her ex-husband has threatened to take her back to court many times but that he never follows through with it. Kate said she pretty much tunes her ex out at this point because she wants to concentrate on raising her children.

“I’ve lost track of how many time he has said that,” Kate said of her ex-husband’s threats. “I’m really focused less on what Jon has to say. I don’t really pay attention, to be honest.”

Jon Gosselin has long made it known that he is not in the loop when it comes to his kids. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gosselin stated he hasn’t seen Collin in over a year-and-a-half and that he doesn’t know where he is. The Gosselin patriarch also revealed that law enforcement officials have not corroborated Kate’s story about their son.

“I have an idea where he is but I don’t really know where he is,” Jon told ET. “[Kate] says that Collin is in a special school for special needs kids with behavioral problems.”

Gosselin added that he never knows which of his eight children he will get to see on any given visitation day.

Jon Gosselin’s attorney told ABC News that “the whole story is not being told” and that the dad of eight is “a loving and caring father who is acting within the scope of the law to do what is best for his kids.”

Season 5 of Kate Plus 8 premieres Tuesday, November 22 at 10 p.m. on TLC.
