‘The Willis Clan’ News: Toby Willis To Start Trial After Several Delays

Fans have been waiting to hear about the Toby Willis trial, and now news is out that it is going to start soon. The star of The Willis Clan was arrested for alleged child rape. At this time, the Willis family has still not shared who the victim was even though there is a lot of speculation that it was one of his children. It was an underage girl who was a family member, but that is all that has been confirmed at this time. Starcasm is now revealing that Toby’s trial will actually start at the end of this month.

Over the last few months, Toby Willis has been held in a few different prisons. His trial was supposed to happen, but more than once, it has been put off to a later date. Now Toby should stand trial on November 30. This is when more information about what happened is actually going to come out.

When Toby was arrested, the police had been investigating him for several weeks. He found out and actually fled the family home and was later hitchhiking. Willis was caught by police in Kentucky after escaping his family home in Tennessee.

Willis actually waived his right to a preliminary hearing within 10 days of his arrest. Toby has been in jail ever since his arrest but has been moved place to place. On September 13, he was moved to the Cheatham County Jail and has been there ever since. There have been several reasons that Toby’s trial didn’t happen, though.

It started out with General Sessions Judge Phillip Maxey being absent for an undisclosed reason on the date of Toby’s first scheduled hearing. Then Toby’s lawyers asked for an extension, which was granted. After that, Judge Robert Burch died of a heart attack over the weekend of October 29, which made Toby Willis’ last trial be postponed. Now on November 30, Toby should finally go to court.

Fox News actually shared a bit about what the court dockets stated. Toby Willis was actually ordered to stay away from his children and wife. This has everyone thinking it probably was a child of theirs that he allegedly assaulted, but nobody knows for sure. Toby did not oppose being extradited and had an attorney to help him right away. This gave the state of Tennessee 60 days to bring him in, which they did with no problem at all. TLC did share that they were shocked to hear the news about what happened.

So far, the Willis family has stayed pretty quiet about what is going on. TLC canceled their show, but it appears that this actually happened before Toby Willis was arrested. No future seasons has been filmed, and the viewers aren’t missing out on seeing anything. Brenda Willis did make a statement.

“I was shocked and devastated by the revelation of events leading to Toby Willis’ arrest. As these are very trying times for the Willis family, I kindly ask all to respect our family’s privacy. As a mother of twelve, my first priority remains with my children and helping them through this traumatic event. We are cancelling all appearances for the foreseeable future to focus on the children and their well-being. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We have, and will continue, to fully cooperate with law enforcement officials and ask that you direct all inquiries regarding Toby Willis’ case to the District Attorney’s office who have our complete support.”
