Update: Body found in Annie Le abduction case

On the day she planned to marry fiance Jonathan Widawsky, a body believed to be that of missing Yale student Annie Le was found hidden in a wall at Yale University, where Le was last seen.

Although Le was seen entering the library, she was never seen leaving and her purse, wallet and cell phone were left behind. Police quickly arranged a press conference Sunday night to disclose the discovery to the public, but have not released other details of the case.

Assistant Police Chief Peter Reichard was quoted as saying:

“We are assuming that it is her,” said Reichard, who said the investigation into Le’s disappearance has been classified a homicide.

“We have been in contact with family members of Annie Le and our sympathy goes out to the family.”

The Le family is awaiting positive identification of the body.
