Borussia Dortmund Vs. Legia Warsaw: Preview, Prediction, Probable Line-Ups, And Betting Tips

High flying Borussia Dortmund will re-start their Champions league campaign on Tuesday night when they take on struggling Legia Warsaw, currently standing last in group F table.

Saturday league match ended happily for the Dortmund team when they beat their old rivals Bayern Munich 1-0 and they, surely, will want to extend this good form against the Polish side as well. The home team leads Group F with 10 points from four games.

Legia Warsaw’s European campaign has failed miserably this season as they still are yet to bag a single win. Their only point this term was against defending champions Real Madrid. Qualifying for the knock-out round seems almost impossible for the Polish side now.

Thomas Tuchel’s team inflicted a 6-0 defeat on Legia when the clubs met in Warsaw on the Day 1 match of the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund, with qualification already assured, will want to increase their chances of topping the group by beating out-of-touch Legia Warsaw side.

Team News: Borussia Dortmund

Manager Thomas Tuchel is slightly worried about the fact that there are few injuries which have kept his players on sidelines. Sven Bender will be unavailable for selection due to an ankle injury. Neven Subotic and Erik Durm are declared unfit to play the match due to their ribs and knee injuries, respectively.

Hit-man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored the winning goal vs. Bayern, should be a key player for the home side.

Maro Reus has recovered from his injury and is back on training with the side. But he is doubtful to start the match against the bottom dwellers.

Raphael Guerreiro is a booking away from the ban, so he must play cautiously against the away side.

Team News: Legia Warsaw

Jacek Magiera’s side hasn’t been troubled with injuries going towards this match. So, there should be enough options of players for the away side to choose from.

Bartosz Bereszynski and Guilherme are both a yellow card away from one match ban.

The good news for the Polish side is that they have won four of their last five games in all competition, drawing the other. Their strikers look in decent form, and can be a trouble for the Dortmund’s backline.

Nemanja Nikolic will lead the attack upfront since he has been in pretty decent form.

Borussia Dortmund vs Legia Warsaw: Prediction

With qualification already assured, Dortmund will try to qualify as the group winners by beating Legia on Tuesday night. The home side have yet to lose a champions league match this season and they, likely, will try to preserve their unbeaten streak when they face group’s last placed team Legia.

Legia, on the other hand, will try and revive their fading chances of progressing to the next rounds of the competition.

The German side are in great form this season, both on the domestic competitions and the Champions League. They are on the verge of topping group F, out-casting the likes of Real Madrid. Legia, meanwhile, has a minor chance to qualify to the next rounds. From what it looks now, it is going to be an easy match for the home side.
