Black Friday 2016 Deals And Ads: The Best TV Deals From Walmart, Best Buy, And Amazon

Black Friday 2016, which will take place on November 25, is now less than a week away. While Friday is the official date, many top doorbuster deals will actually go live on Thanksgiving, with others starting as early as Wednesday. Even though it is possible to secure great deals from a variety of item categories, TVs, notably high-definition televisions, remain the most popular category.

With the abundance of different deals available, it is often overwhelming attempting to sort through all of them. To make matters worse, some TV deals are not even really deals, and it is better off avoiding them entirely. Here are the top 2016 Black Friday television deals from Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon.

Walmart’s 2016 Black Friday TV Deals

Easily the most popular Black Friday store, Walmart has a vast selection of TVs, with the 4K ones being the most interesting. Their top deal this year is the Philips 55? Class Smart 4K UHDTV for $298. Walmart considers it a special buy and did not list the retail price, so it is currently unknown how much you will save. Regardless, $298 for a television with these features is an unbelievable deal. Consumer Reports speculates that it may retail for $498, so the discount would be $200.

“This is a special buy, with limited quantities. The store will hand out wristbands to customers waiting in line for this deal. The model wasn’t specified, but we’re guessing it might be the Philips 55PFL5601/F7, which is selling for $498 at Walmart right now. The Philips brand is licensed by Funai Electric, a Japanese manufacturer.”

In addition to the Philips 55? TV, here are a few other of Walmart’s top television offers.

  • Element 40? 1080p LED HDTV (ELEFW408) for $125
  • Hisense 40? 1080p LED HDTV (40H3B) for $125
  • Samsung 50? 4K LED Smart HDTV (UN50KU6300) for $398

Among the major stores, Best Buy has the largest selection of television deals, and they also have the top one of the year. The Toshiba 49? 4K LED HDTV w/ Built-in Chromecast will be available for $199.99, which is a discount of $250. This is the lowest price for a 49? 4K TV from a premium brand on Black Friday, and it is really one of the top television deals in years. It will only be available in traditional brick-and-mortar locations, so you will not be able to order online. Consumer Reports notes that Best Buy may be attempting to get potential buyers to add on expensive accessories.

“This is an in-store-only deal, so Best Buy is hoping you’ll buy some pricier cables or other accessories while you’re there. The model is the Toshiba 49L621U, and it’s at a very low price for a 4K TV in the 49- to 50-inch category. It has the Google Cast-Based SmartCast smart TV platform.”

In addition to the Toshiba 49? TV, here are a few other of Best Buy’s top television offers.

  • Sharp 55? 1080p Smart LED HDTV (LC-55LB481U) for $249.99
  • Samsung 50? 4K 120Hz Smart LED HDTV (UN50KU6300FXZA) for $397.99
  • Samsung 50? 1080p 120Hz LED Smart HDTV (UN50J5201AFXZA) for $299.99
  • Insignia 32? 720p 60Hz Smart LED HDTV (NS-32DR310NA17) for $99.99
  • LG 40? 1080p LED HDTV (40LH5000) for $149.99

Amazon’s 2016 Black Friday TV Deals

Unlike the other major retailers, Amazon does not release a traditional Black Friday circular. They did put out an official press release, however, and it showcases some of their TV deals this year. In typical Amazon fashion, they failed to list the brand and model numbers for many of the deals. Regardless, you can see their prices are extremely competitive.

  • Lowest prices on select Samsung, LG, and Sony TVs
  • 32? 720p LED TV, $69.99
  • 43? 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, $199
  • 32? TCL 720p Smart TV – Amazon’s Choice, $125
  • 55? LG 4K Smart TV, $398
  • Premium brand 60? 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, $599
  • Premium brand 55? 1080p Smart LED TV, $298

The 32? TV for $69.99 is a new Black Friday record for that size. It is going to be an off-brand model, most likely Seiki or Westinghouse. If this year is anything like prior years, it will be sold out within minutes. No time is listed for any of the individual deals, so you will not be able to plan for a specific TV. The other television prices are also similar to what you will see from other retailers, but there is an added benefit of being able to purchase them all online.
