Kanye West is no doubt one of the most successful rappers in the world. Presently aged 39, he is known for his controversial public rants. Just a few days ago, he delivered what seemed like a very long political speech, in which he stated that he didn’t vote, but would have voted for Donald Trump if he had. This was during his “Saint Pablo Tour” in San Jose. The following was his exact statement.
“I told y’all I didn’t vote, right? But if I were to vote, I would have voted on Trump… I just said that I would have voted for Donald Trump and then I did a song and y’all sang it at the top of your lungs. That doesn’t mean that you’re a Trump supporter.
“That just means you ok with a celebrity having their own opinion. Or that someone else is ok to have their own opinion. That might not be your opinion but you can still like that person or still like that person’s music.”
This was amid boos by some fans. He also talked about the issue of racism, telling his African American counterparts to stop focusing on it so much. This was while highlighting that racism was a fact of life and would still be present, regardless of who the next president would have been. The following was his message.
“Specifically to black people, stop focusing on racism. This world is racist, ok? Let’s stop being distracted to focus on that as much… It’s just a f**king fact. We are in a racist country. Period. Not one or the other candidate was going to instantly be able to change that.”
This is as reported by Breitbart. The rant is said to have gone on for 25 minutes. Apparently, Jay Z and Beyonce were disappointed by Jay Z’s political tirade. According to Hollywood Life, an insider told the site that the couple wished Kanye West would just quit politics during his music concerts. The following is an excerpt of the report.
“They [Beyonce and Jay Z] understand that it’s a two-way street and people don’t have to agree with their political views, but they also feel like Kanye should shut his mouth sometimes. They feel you shouldn’t have a say if you didn’t vote.”
The power couple supported Hillary Clinton during the 2016 U.S. Presidential election campaigns, putting them and Kanye West on opposing sides, at least politically. Presently, however, it seems that Kanye West is pushing the limits in regards to his relationship with Jay Z and Beyonce. This was after he made a shocking claim last night about Beyonce, Jay Z’s wife, during his Sacramento concert, stating the following.
“Beyonce I was hurt because I heard you said you wouldn’t perform unless you won video of the year over me and over Hotline Bling.
“In my opinion – now don’t go dissing Beyonce, she’s great. Taylor Swift is great. We are all great people. But sometimes we be playing the politics too much and forget who we are – just to win. ‘F**k winning, f**k looking cool, f**k being cool’, adding, ‘At the risk of my own success. I’ll give ya’ll the truth.”
He also asked Jay Z to call him so they can talk things out like men instead of resorting to violence, saying, “I know you got killas. Please don’t send them at my head.”
This is as reported by the Daily Mail. Fans in attendance at the Kanye West show took to social media to air their disappointments about it. It lasted only 10 minutes and after only two songs, with Kanye West’s rant taking most of the time.
