Watch Sergey Kovalev Vs. Andre Ward Boxing Match Live Online: Start Time, Streaming Video For Saturday’s Bout

Boxing fans can watch the Sergey Kovalev vs. Andre boxing match live online and see if the undefeated Ward can find his third straight victory at a higher weight class or whether Kovalev can complete his ninth title defense.

The two fighters will meet in Las Vegas on Saturday night, with the action starting at 9 p.m. ET from the T-Mobile Arena. There are some options to watch the Ward vs. Kovalev fight live online, including free streaming video of the preliminary fights.

Saturday’s fight is expected to be one of the best of the year. Both Kovalev and Ward are considered among the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport, ESPN noted.

Though both fighters agreed that it should be a thrilling match, there doesn’t appear to be much love between the two men.

“It’s simple. He don’t like me, and I don’t like him,” Ward said (via ESPN).

“He’s the champion, so I respect him as a champion. I’m trying to become a two-division world champion, and I’m not leaving Las Vegas without those [three] belts. I believe [Saturday] night will be the best performance you’ve ever seen from me. I believe great fighters rise to the occasion, and that’s what I’ll do.”

Kovalev also seemed to revel in the pro-Ward crowd during weigh-ins, telling the fans they would be left disappointed on Saturday.

“I don’t care at all,” Kovalev said.

“[Saturday] we will find out who’s the best. I will crush him. I will knock him out. That’s my goal.”

Fans who watch the Sergey Kovalev vs. Andre Ward boxing match live online will see a major milestone in what has been a long and winding road for the Russian fighter. In the lead-up to Saturday’s bout, Kovalev has spoken about his struggles as a young boxer in Russia and his decision to move to the United States.

It was manager Egis Klimas who helped Sergey Kovalev decide to make the move in 2009.

“I was very honest with him,” Klimas said (via ESPN).

“[I said], ‘I’m not going to make you money, promoter not going to make you money. You can make it to the top if you can get American audience, if people will like you, if people going to buy tickets to your fights, if TV will buy your fights. Then you are going to have success. Otherwise, forget about it and go do what you do. And he says, ‘Let’s try it.'”

Klimas noted that Kovalev has had to claw his way to the top of the boxing ranks, noting that the Russian was not pushed by the media and “never was protected like many fighters are nowadays.” In the early days, Klimas said he would drive Kovalev along the East Coast, looking to sign on for whatever fights they could book.

Those watching the event live online will see some exciting action beyond the Ward vs. Kovalev match. Saturday’s action will also include the professional debut of two-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields, ESPN noted.

“Super middleweight Claressa Shields, the 21-year-old from Flint, Michigan, who won her second consecutive Olympic gold medal in August at the Rio Games, weighed in at 167 pounds for her four-round pro debut against Franchon Crews, 29, of Baltimore. Crews, a standout amateur despite losing multiple times to Shields, weighed in at the division limit of 168 pounds for what also will be her professional debut.”
