Selena Gomez And Justin Bieber Reunited At A Hotel Before Last Year’s American Music Awards, But This Year Will Be Different

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber appeared to be on the verge of a reconciliation just days before attending last year’s American Music Awards.

Prior to the ceremony, Selena Gomez, 24, and Justin Bieber, 22, were spotted together at a hotel where Bieber was seen serenading his former girlfriend with a rendition of “My Girl.” As Hollywood Life reported at the time, the exes popped up at the Montage Beverly Hills on November 20 and a short time later, several fans uploaded photos and video of Bieber gazing into Gomez’s eyes as he sang and played piano.

“Are they back together?” the outlet asked.

While Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber certainly appeared quite cozy with one another at the time, it wasn’t long before Bieber was tied to other women, including Kourtney Kardashian, 37, and Hailey Baldwin, 19.

As E! News reported on November 18 of this year, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber didn’t interact during the actual show.

“The exes attended the awards show in 2015 but managed to stay separate. While [Selena Gomez] walked the carpet and sat in the audience, Bieber took to the stage to perform his hits, “What Do You Mean?,” “Where Are Ü Now,” and “Sorry” to close out the show,” the outlet explained.

Following the 2015 American Music Awards, Selena Gomez and her ex-boyfriend appeared to go their separate ways and while they were also seen walking together on the streets of Beverly Hills around the time the show took place, Bieber had moved on with Baldwin by the end of December.

As fans of the pop star will recall, Bieber and Baldwin seemingly went public with their romance while on vacation in Anguilla with several members of Bieber’s family. During their trip, Bieber and Baldwin shared several photos of one another on their Instagram pages and when they returned to Los Angeles, they continued to spend time together. Baldwin even attended one of Bieber’s shows in Los Angeles in March, but shortly thereafter, Gomez attended another.

After Bieber sent out a throwback photo of himself and Selena Gomez in a pool, along with the caption, “Feels,” Gomez sent back the message “Perfect” and showed up at his “Purpose World Tour” days later.

By June, rumors were swirling in regard to Bieber’s alleged romance with Nicole Peltz and months later, he stepped out with Sofia Richie and later posted a photo of them together on Instagram. Throughout their relationship, Bieber and Richie were seen together in Japan, Los Angeles and Mexico but ultimately, they parted ways at the end of the summer.

As for the upcoming 2016 American Music Awards, Selena Gomez may be attending. While the singer is currently treating symptoms of lupus in rehab, the show’s producer spoke to E! News earlier this week to confirm that she may be seen at the event.

Meanwhile, Bieber will not be in attendance as he will be tending to his “Purpose World Tour” in London.

Even if Bieber was attending the show, Selena Gomez’s grandfather, Ricardo Gomez, made it clear weeks ago during an interview with The Sun that despite Gomez’s feelings for Bieber, she has no plans to reconcile their relationship at the present time.

“[Selena Gomez] loves him but told us she doesn’t want to be with him because of his recent behavior,” he explained. “We’ve known Justin since he started in the industry and he was such a bright young man, but we worry for him. His family think [Selena Gomez] is a good influence on him.”

Selena Gomez has not yet confirmed or denied news of her potential appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards.
