WWE News: Main Event Star Taking Time Off After Sunday’s ‘Survivor Series’ — Reason For Absence Known

Right now, WWE has a plethora of main event talent on both brands and sometimes, it’s hard for them to find places and storylines for all. This Sunday on Survivor Series, a lot of those talents will be on Team Monday Night Raw and Team SmackDown LIVE and facing off for brand supremacy. Out of those 10 talents, though, one of them is about to miss some time from the WWE ring, but he has a very valid and good reason for it.

It may not be the main event match of Survivor Series on Sunday as that honor will likely go to Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar, but another huge match will draw a lot of attention. Team Red will face off against Team Blue in three traditional elimination-style tag team matches and one will pit main event male superstars from both brands.

From Raw, Universal Champion Kevin Owens will team with United States Champion Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, and Braun Strowman. From SmackDown LIVE, WWE Champion AJ Styles will team with Dean Ambrose, Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, and Bray Wyatt, but one will be gone for a while after Survivor Series.

According to WrestleZone, Survivor Series will be the last time that Randy Orton is seen in a WWE ring for about a week. As many fans may know, Orton’s wife is set to give birth just two days after this weekend’s pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE is allowing him time to be with his family.

Obviously, this has been known for quite some time as the couple revealed her pregnancy earlier in the year around WrestleMania 32.

It was originally thought that Orton was going to actually miss Survivor Series which would have really put a kink in WWE’s plans. SE Scoops pointed out that John Cena has already been missing from in-ring action for a while now and will still be out a while longer while filming the second season of American Grit.

Cena’s time off could still last a while longer, and if Orton were to miss a lot of time, it could cause problems for WWE. The good news for the organization is that Orton is only scheduled to be off of WWE television for just a little over a week.

Orton will be at Survivor Series and then miss next week’s SmackDown LIVE on Tuesday, but that is the only televised event he will be absent from.

Orton is not scheduled for any other WWE live events throughout next week and his first appearance back is the next Tuesday. The official live event page for the Nov. 29 episode of SmackDown LIVE does have Randy Orton scheduled to be on the show.

For quite some time now, “The Viper” has been involved with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family. Everyone originally thought that Orton would continue his feud with Bray, but he ended up joining the evil stable of WWE.

Some think that this new family could soon come to an end, but there is no way of knowing what will happen at Survivor Series.

Randy Orton just returned to WWE television back at SummerSlam for his first match since September of last year. Injuries forced him out of the ring for a good bit of time longer than anyone was expecting. This time around, he is going to miss only about a week of action and no one can blame him for taking time off to be with his wife for the birth of his baby. After that, he will be back to continue with The Wyatt Family in some form or another.
