Kaley Cuoco Reveals She’s ‘Done’ With Meat In New Magazine Interview

Kaley Cuoco is a well known animal lover — she named her Instagram account “Norman Cook” after her rescue dog Norman — and in a new interview with Women’s Health, Cuoco reveals she doesn’t eat meat. The Big Bang Theory star does not explicitly say animal rights are the reason she stays away from some members of the animal kingdom, however, saying she does eat fish as part of her healthy eating regime. Her go-to philosophy is to eat “half” portions in order to remain fit.

“When I wake up, I have the same little bit of peanut butter on toast every morning.

“No more meat, I’m like, done.”

Even if she won’t be eating burgers anytime soon, Cuoco admitted to Women’s Health she’ll take a trip to In-N-Out for a cheat day.

“Tonight I’ll be going to In-N-Out and doing one of their grilled cheeses, massive fries, and a shake. That’d be a cheat for me.”

Cuoco, who turns 31 later this month, said she has to work harder now to keep her physique than she did when she was younger. She credits hot yoga and horse riding as keeping her in good shape, although she had to try many different kinds of exercise before finding one that stuck.

“I tried spinning, I tried running, I tried yoga, I tried Pilates. I realized I don’t like running…I refuse to do it. I like spinning, so I try to mix that in. When I found hot yoga, I fell in love with it and was like, this is my thing.”

Cuoco told Women’s Health that people often don’t realize what is physically required to ride a horse, and that it is a strenuous form of exercise.

Her equestrian exploits are well-known; horse riding is how she met her new love, Karl Cook. The two started their relationship after the end of Kaley’s marriage to tennis player Ryan Sweeting.

ET Online reported that Cuoco and Cook met at a horse show where they bumped into each other — literally. The Big Bang Theory actress describes it as a romantic moment where the connection was immediate.

“Literally, we bumped arms at a horse show. We each said, ‘Oh, I’m sorry’ — and everything changed. I looked at him and he looked at me…”

In its list of things to know about Karl Cook, published a few months back when the connection between Kaley and Karl was still at the rumor stage, E! Online revealed that he’s the son of the person who founded Intuit, the software company that creates products such as Quickbooks. At age 26, he’s a few years younger than Kaley.

Kaley recently announced on Instagram that her beloved horse Thor would be retiring from the show jumping ring. In addition to her horses, she has several dogs to keep Norman company. Kaley has been an advocate for animal adoption organizations such as Paw Works and last year was the host of The All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration.

If Karl Cook comes from a wealthy background, Kaley Cuoco can probably match his wealth dollar for dollar. Her last contract for The Big Bang Theory had her earn a reported $1 million per episode, for a 24-episode season, for seasons 8, 9 and 10, according to Variety. As the holidays loom, the show has still not been renewed for any additional years, and the stars’ contracts, according to that Variety report from October, are still under negotiation.

In the meantime, the show’s main actors are exploring other projects. The Inquisitr recently reported that Jim Parsons may be tapped to play a BuzzFeed editor in the upcoming film Brother Orange and Parsons may produce a Big Bang Theory spin-off that revolves around a young Sheldon Cooper.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays on CBS.
