Katie Maloney is planning her wedding on this season of Vanderpump Rules, and she’s very excited about getting married to Tom Schwartz. But the previews for the season do prove that it’s an uphill battle to get ready for the wedding. Tom even threatened to call off the wedding to Maloney, because she became too dramatic with everything. During the first episode of this season of Vanderpump Rules, Schwartz revealed that his future wife had changed after making up with Stassi Schroeder, and she was slowly becoming the mean girl again.
According to a new tweet, Katie Maloney is now revealing that she could be mean because she’s faced some harsh comments on this season of Vanderpump Rules. James Kennedy and Lala Kent were quick to point to her sudden weight gain. James even joked about Katie Maloney possibly being pregnant, because she had gained weight. But Vanderpump Rules viewers didn’t exactly like how James and Lala were joking about Maloney’s weight, and they shared their opinions on social media.

“But fat shamers are wrong, even if she’s judgmental & a know it all It’s hard 2 put yourself out there 4 the world 2 see,” one person wrote in general after watching Vanderpump Rules, where Katie Maloney was being fat-shamed for gaining some weight during the show’s hiatus.

Maybe Katie Maloney gained some weight while she was planning her wedding, as she started hanging out with Stassi Schroeder more. Tom noticed that they were resorting back to their old ways, which for Katie could include more drinking and talking about people behind their backs. But in regard to the fat-shaming comments, Maloney decided to share her take on the situation by adding to the conversations.
“I know nothing. Im a human who is emotionally charged and can be reactive. But I’m not blind nor self unaware,” Katie Maloney replied to the tweet, sharing her perspective in the whole fat shaming scenario on Vanderpump Rules, to which the person apologized for any offense the original tweet may have caused.

“No you didn’t. I was adding to the conversation,” Katie Maloney replied to the viewer, who had initially started the conversation.
So why were James and Lala being so rude about Maloney’s supposed weight gain? In a confessional interview, Katie revealed that this was the summer of her wedding and she simply didn’t want to focus on any criticism. But James argued that she had been so mean to him that he was just fighting back. He felt that all of the cast members were rude to him, so the fat-shaming comment was just another way of getting back at her. Kennedy admits that he did mean it even though Vanderpump Rules fans thought it was rude and tacky of him.

But Katie Maloney isn’t exactly someone who will hold back. As Vanderpump Rules aired last night, Ariana Madix made fun of James’ song “Feeling You,” which he claims did well on iTunes. And it sounds like both Ariana and Katie Maloney mocked his DJ career on social media, as Katie tweeted back to a deleted tweet — “Obviously! It was the song of the summer!” — referring to his song.

While Kennedy can’t see why he wouldn’t become a huge hit, his co-stars want to bring him back down to earth and remind him that he has a job as a resident DJ at a Los Angeles restaurant and only has a few songs on iTunes – something that anyone can do.
What do you think of Katie Maloney’s tweet about the fat-shaming situation? Do you think she’s asking for criticism, as she’s being mean and mocking James over social media?
