Vicki Gunvalson’s Daughter Briana: Lupus Could Develop And Get A Lot Worse

Vicki Gunvalson has been worried about her daughter’s health for a long time as she has been battling with lymph nodes for years. Even when Vicki first joined The Real Housewives of Orange County, her daughter was constantly sick with something. For a while, Gunvalson wasn’t sure if her daughter was going to be alright, and she often panicked when her daughter went in for surgery. For a long time, Gunvalson and Briana thought that she might have cancer, and doctors did various biopsies. But as Briana got an education in healthcare and started working as a nurse, she knew more about her health.

According to a new Bravo report, Vicki Gunvalson is now revealing that she finally knows what is wrong with her daughter. After years of searching for an answer, Briana revealed that she had been diagnosed with lupus during last night’s Real Housewives of Orange County. But it sounds like she isn’t letting this disease slowing her down as she announced her diagnosis after working a 14-hour shift at the hospital.

But even though Vicki Gunvalson’s daughter has a diagnosis, she’s not completely in the clear. While she can get medication for lupus, she still has to keep an eye out on her lymph nodes as she recently had surgery to remove the tumors. There is no guarantee that these tumors won’t develop into cancerous ones later on. But she admits that she does feel better after the diagnosis.

“It’s better. I had a major surgery on my neck a couple months ago to remove more tumors and they figured out that I have lupus,” Briana revealed about her illness during last night’s reunion special for The Real Housewives of Orange County, adding, “They said that I still can possibly be very early lymphoma that’s not detectable. So I have to be diligent but for now it’s just lupus.”

And it sounds like the diagnosis worked out well for her relationship with her mother as Vicki is thrilled that her daughter is back in Orange County. When Andy Cohen asked her about their relationship, she revealed that she loved living in Orange County now that Brooks Ayers was no longer a part of Vicki Gunvalson’s life.

“It’s good; it feels really good to be home,” Briana revealed about her relationship with her mother, Vicki Gunvalson, adding that things are “very good, back to normal” now that she’s no longer with her ex. “[Brooks is] gone, so we good,” she added.

She also added that Vicki Gunvalson had made a good decision with Steve Lodge, and she would be at the wedding should he propose. It sounds like Vicki really made the right choice for her family to get rid of Brooks and move on with Lodge. But Gunvalson’s daughter also took the opportunity to speak about her mother’s generosity. Apparently, many people thought that Gunvalson had purchased her home for her, even though she’s working as a nurse and her husband had been deployed six times.

“People like to try and make me feel bad about it. I work my ass off. I worked 14 hours and here I am. My husband’s a marine; he’s been deployed six times,” she revealed about Vicki Gunvalson’s generous gifts, adding, “We work really hard and I hate that people try to diminish my success because my mom helped me out.”

What do you think of Briana finally learning about her illness? And do you think her moving back to Orange County has helped Vicki Gunvalson move on from Brooks more effectively as the two of them clearly didn’t get along?
