WWE News: Triple H Says Conor McGregor Could Be Huge In The WWE

Conor McGregor won his most recent fight at UFC 205 by beating Eddie Alvarez for the light heavyweight title. Conor McGregor is now the only man in MMA history to hold two different UFC titles at the same time, as he is also the welterweight champion. Could conquering the WWE be next?

Triple H was at UFC 205 and did some media interviews while he was there. Forbes reported that, when Triple H spoke about Conor McGregor, Triple H said that the UFC star had a road to the WWE and could be very successful if it was a road that he wished to take.

“He could come over, he’s got it all, man – he’s got the personality, the skills, the talk. He’s an entertainer, for sure…what does he walk around at? 180lbs? I have smaller guys now in the WWE. We have 200lb guys who are stars. You don’t need to be 300lbs any more.”

Triple H also made it clear that Conor McGregor could be as successful as Floyd Mayweather did when he turned his attention to the WWE a few years back. For those who don’t remember, Floyd Mayweather fought The Big Show at WrestleMania XXIV.

The event saw Floyd Mayweather show up on WWE Monday Night Raw and talk about how great he was. That brought out Big Show, a villain at the time. Despite Big Show being a heel, many WWE fans saw Mayweather as an outsider invading their sport and most WWE fans cheered for Big Show.

Despite that, Floyd Mayweather cheated to win the match with brass knuckles at WrestleMania XXIV. Over one million people ordered the PPV, not including those who attended in person, proving that Mayweather was a huge draw.

Floyd Mayweather is 5’8? and weighs 151 pounds. Because he was the WBC welterweight champion at the time, Big Show and Floyd Mayweather made their match realistic despite Big Show weighs over 400 pounds and stands 7’2?. Big Show said on Talk is Jericho that it was one of the most important angles of his entire career.

Conor McGregor stands 5’9? and weighs 155 pounds. He also has an angle already built in if he wanted to come to the WWE. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Conor McGregor called out the entire WWE locker room, saying he could take anyone there in a fight.

“I have thought about it. For the most part, I think these guys are [expletives], to be honest. They’re messed up [expletives], if you ask me. Fair play to Brock [Lesnar]; he got in and fought, but at the end of the day, he was juiced up to the [expletive] eyeballs. How can I respect that?”

It is the attitude and charisma that could make Conor McGregor a huge star in the WWE. To compare things, AJ Styles is only one inch taller than McGregor and Finn Balor is 5’11. Conor McGregor is shorter than both those WWE stars but he has proven to be a legitimate fighter.

Conor McGregor is also not really happy right now with his place in the UFC. MMAJunkie reported that Conor McGregor said that he is underpaid right now, despite being the highest paid UFC star. He also said that he wants to own a stake in the UFC and makes it sound like he won’t fight much more if he doesn’t get more.

The WWE paid Floyd Mayweather $20 million to appear and wrestle at WrestleMania. If Conor McGregor is most interested in money, the WWE is where he might want to head.
