‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Episode 5 Spoilers: Maggie’s Return… And Vengeance [Video]

The Walking Dead Season 7 has had a series of “inconsequential” episodes lately, but they have all been a set-up for what’s to come when the entire group reconvenes. It should come as no surprise to everyone that Maggie has not been seen considering she has been recovering at the Hilltop community since that awful premiere episode. But that is about to change.

More to that point, there has been such an intense divide in The Walking Dead universe that it is hard to get many of the characters on-screen within the same episode. Maggie and Jesus are both at the Hilltop. Morgan and Carol are both at the Kingdom, although Carol has divested herself from the community by living outside of it. Rick and the core group are still in Alexandria, and Daryl is deep within the confines of Negan’s base empire. So it might take some time before we got a more inclusive episode.

But in the next episode of The Walking Dead, as reported by TV Guide, there is going to be a broader story to tell and that means there will be some switching back and forth between the Hilltop and Alexandria.

This is the part of the article that we need to warn you that there will be spoilers coming up from Episodes 4 and 5 on The Walking Dead. If you have not seen the last episode of The Walking Dead, or if you do not want Episode 5, titled “Go Getters,” spoiled for you, then you should only proceed with that caution in mind.

What fans of The Walking Dead last saw on the show is that Negan meant business when he last left off with Rick and the group. That’s not to say that Rick did not take his warning seriously, but he honestly did not seem to know the true scope of what Negan meant.

The new world on The Walking Dead means that everything and everyone reports to one tyrannical leader, and Negan makes sure that everyone pays their taxes, no matter what kind of trouble they run into.

When Negan made his debut in Alexandria on The Walking Dead, the first point that he got across is that he’s extremely confident in every action that he takes. He smiles while he makes his demands and seems to make every character on The Walking Dead feel as if he is doing them a favor, which he first showed when he killed the approaching walker then handed Rick his baseball bat to hold for him.

It seemed almost like a test of sorts. Negan handed him the bat that he killed Abraham and Glenn with then walked past him and did not turn around. In the end, Negan was confident that Rick would not use it against him. But he did make sure that Rick felt the emotional pain of holding that bat. The Walking Dead has a tendency to add insult to injury for its core characters like that to make sure that if there ever is a victory for the good guys, they get to have a little extra sweet revenge added to the pot.

So now that we are on Episode 5 of The Walking Dead, “Go Getters” will definitely expand the story and Season 7 will get that much-needed momentum marching forward. The inclusion of Maggie and the Hilltop during a siege and the scenes that take place back at Alexandria indicate that Season 7 of The Walking Dead is poised to show fans that there is a bright side to the story and all of those details will be coming soon, which may include Maggie getting some much-needed revenge.

Fans can catch Episode 5 of The Walking Dead, “Go Getters,” next Sunday on AMC.
