Derek And Julianne Hough Tape Holiday Specials At Disney World Resorts: See The Pics
Derek Hough may be done with the current season of Dancing with the Stars, but his appearances on ABC TV this year are far from over. Derek Hough and his sister, Julianne, recently taped two holiday specials at the famous Walt Disney World resorts, and the specials will air on the network over the next few weeks. Just Jared Jr/ posted fan videos from the taping, which show the Hough siblings getting into the holiday spirit while working on some Christmas-themed choreography.
Derek and Julianne Hough will host The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration, which will air on ABC on Thanksgiving evening, as well The Disney Parks’ Magical Christmas Celebration, which premieres on Christmas morning. As a bonus, Julianne Hough will serve as an executive producer on the two specials.
The Thanksgiving special will include appearances from Kelly Clarkson and Disney favorites like Sofia Carson, while The Disney Parks’ Magical Christmas Celebration will take viewers on a festive trip down Disney’s iconic Main Street with guest stars Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, and more.

Fan-shot photos and video of Derek and Julianne’s magical trip through Disney showed the Houghs posing in front of the iconic Cinderella’s Castle with a few dozen festive friends.
In another shot, Derek Hough is surrounded by some of Disney’s most famous princesses, while his sister also marvels at hanging out with her idols, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Jasmine, Ariel, and Belle.
There is also a photo of Derek and his sister surrounded by all of the most famous Disney characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck, as well as some unidentified gingerbread people and toy soldiers.
It’s no surprise that the Hough siblings are headlining the two ABC holidays specials. Derek is an Emmy-winning pro dancer on Dancing with the Stars and the long-running show’s only six-time mirrorball champion. Meanwhile, Julianne has two DWTS trophies under her belt and has worked as a guest judge on the celebrity ballroom competition for the past several years.
As for how the close-knit Hough clan spends their holidays, Derek previously told Celebuzz that he likes to keep his game face on with family game nights over the holiday season.
“Catch Phrase. It’s a good game,” Derek told Celebuzz of his family’s favorite holiday tradition. “I’m just laying it out there, if you don’t know what Catch Phrase is, it’s the best game. I love it!”
As for Julianne Hough, she told The Boot she loves Christmas cards.
“I love opening them and seeing the pictures and just seeing through the year how much their families have grown,” Hough recently explained to the country music site. “For me, I’ve got millions of little nieces and nephews and cousins. I love it because you get to see how much they’ve grown in a year and their cute little smiles and everything. So, I love receiving Christmas cards.”
But when it comes to gift buying, Derek Hough’s younger sister admitted she is a serious procrastinator.
“I am terrible,” Hough said. “I shop on Christmas Eve, and I definitely pick the last minute things.”
