‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ 1.5 Update: Survival DLC Release Date In Time For Christmas? Xbox One’s Site Reveals Surprise

MMO/shooter enthusiasts are wondering when Tom Clancy’s The Division Survival DLC Expansion 2 will be coming out. Some people thought it would be this year or even the next. Now a release date was made available via Xbox One’s official site. After some delays and tweaking, will fans be expecting the 1.5 patch before Thanksgiving and Christmas? The announcement was made for Xbox One and PC, but not PlayStation 4.

How Legit Is The Release Date?

The Division Survival DLC expansion PlayStation 4 release will come 30 days after the Xbox One and PC. It has been debatable one whether or not this update will be coming out this year or the next. The Tuesday, Nov. 22 date does seem legit as it is on Xbox’s official site and not just some fan page. Also, Tuesdays are typically the go-to date for major releases.

This isn’t the first time this has happened; there had been occasions in the past where something would go up, maybe unintentionally. But if it was deliberate, then it’s probably a pattern or standard operating procedure for online outlets like Xbox One to set up the prep work for an upcoming release of games. Perhaps this was just an “oops” on the site?

Xbox One and PC owners will be receiving the Survival DLC and 1.5 patch simultaneously while PlayStation 4 owners have to wait 30 days. This may be a drag for PlayStation 4 owners, but after that time has elapsed, the date falls on Dec. 20. This is five days prior to Christmas.

So this sounds like a carefully planned scheduling situation because according to Skill Up Sweden is pretty good at priding themselves on taking a good amount of time off during the holidays. Of course, the rest of the world’s gamers could follow suit. That being said, this allows Massive enough time to be on the clock still just in case things malfunction before the holidays.

Will The Division 1.5 Update Be Up To Snuff?

Massive also confirmed the current PTS would end tomorrow, Nov. 14, which will likely indicate that the Nov. 22 release date for the Survival expansion DLC is on par even though it isn’t confirmed.

In reflection, the PTS 1.4 was running for a longer period compared to the 1.5 PTS update. That being said, there is still some notable balancing issues going on. For example, the weapons talents are still undergoing issues. As a result, this could be an ignored factor when performing character builds if it isn’t addressed.

Enemy Armor Damage is yet another issue because taking out an armor heavy NPC can be quite trying and this could result in players focusing on survivability along with armor mitigation. So if the update goes out like this come the release dates, Tom Clancy’s The Division may not allow for players to build in a different fashion.

This brings up a theory on yet another PTS update to address these glaring issues. But would it not make sense from a money making stand point to release the Survival DLC expansion and for now forsake the desired play-ability regarding the adjustment of stats and alternative Division agent character builds.

However and hopefully Massive will produce the game balancing issues, weapons talents, enemy armor damage, and so forth before the speculated Nov. 22 release date.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Survival Expansion 2 DLC 1.5 update focuses in on what the patch’s moniker describes. Division agents wind up stranded in a blizzard infested New York City and it’s up to the player to “MacGyver” materials, medical supplies, and weapons found on the map.

The Dark Zone is the next stop, and from there, agents need to extract via helicopter. Time is precious in this case as the clock is ticking once you crash land.
