Watch Guinea Vs. Congo DR Football Match Live Online: Start Time, Streaming Video Links For Sunday’s World Cup Qualifying Match

Fans can watch the Guinea vs. Congo DR football match live online and see if Guinea can strike a major upset and move to the top of the Group A rankings in their quest to reach the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The teams will meet Sunday in Conkary, with a local start time of 7:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. GMT). The match will be broadcast on beIN Sports in Africa and also available live online for fans unable to make it to a television (a link to the streaming video of the match can be found below).

For Guinea, Sunday’s match will also be a chance to put behind the sting of a 2-0 loss to Tunisia in their opening World Cup qualifying match and aim for a victory.

Tunisia’s coach Henryk Kasperczak noted that his side seized control against what appeared to be an overmatched Guinea squad.

“We were so good in the first period, but we took more opportunities after the break. We controlled the game. Anis Ben-Hatira — our wild card — found an opportunity to score a goal,” Kasperczak said (via the Libyan Express).

The Congo DR squad has big plans of its own. The team is trying to reaching the first World Cup in 42 years after last playing in 1974 in Germany. They are off to a good start, defeating Libya 4-0 in their first match, which Africa News noted was an all-around team effort.

“Dieumerci Mbokani scored twice in the game, getting the first of his two goals in the sixth minute with Jonathan Bolingi adding a second on the stroke of half-time.

“Mbokani grabbed his second after 56 minutes to make it 3-0 to DR Congo, with substitute Ndombe Mubele adding a fourth late on for the hosts.”

The blowout was so complete that the Libya Football Association fired head coach Javier Clemente after the loss. The Libyan Express noted that the Mediterranean Knights were exposed in the match in what was “A mediocre performance even by their own standards.”

The big win helped Congo DR seize control of Group A, and a win on Sunday against Guinea could help widen their lead. Florent Ibenge, Congo DR’s national coach, said his team is remaining loose while keeping their eyes on the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“There is no pressure, it was intended. I was the first to mention that I wanted to go to the World Cup, so there is no pressure. It is a goal that is defined and we want to reach it without any pressure of any kind, it is just the willingness” he said (via Africa News).

Super Sport noted that the Congo DR squad has some dangerous players who could be a handful for Guinea.

“The Leopards’ dangerman is Mbokani, who is the current leading goalscorer in the final round of the 2018 World Cup (CAF) qualifiers,” the report noted. “The England-based center forward is expected to play an important role for DR Congo as they look to cement their spot at the top of their group in Conakry.”

Guinea’s head coach, Lappe Bangoura, said he knew his team would have a difficult task against a Congo DR team that is among the best in Africa.

“We now face the DR Congo. That means our opening matches are against the favouites,” Bangoura said (via Super Sport). “These are two very important matches. But we must not discount Libya. They qualified for the final round because they are a good side.”
