Black Friday 2016 Deals: Ads From Amazon, Macy’s, And eBay Should Be Released By Wednesday

Black Friday 2016 will take place on November 25 this year, and ads from some of the largest stores have already been released. While shoppers have had their fun over the past week browsing circulars from Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, ads from a few very important retailers are still missing. Since Black Friday is now less than two weeks away, this coming week should see the remainder of the ads for the most important stores come out.

You can see a full selection of the latest 2016 Black Friday ads at BestBlackFriday.com, and Amazon, Macy’s, and eBay should be added to the list within the next few days.

Amazon’s Black Friday 2016 Ad Projected Release Date

Amazon has not released an actual Black Friday circular in a few years, and it is unlikely that they will for 2016. Their strategy is to put out an official press release a little over a week before Thanksgiving. In 2015, the press release, as seen on Amazon’s website, came out on November 18, which was eight days before Thanksgiving. This press release acts as an ad because it lists most of their major doorbusters. Regardless, they always have a few surprises on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

This is done on purpose, as Amazon waits for all of their competitors to release their ads first. As the Inquisitr reported, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy’s circulars were all released within eight hours of each other earlier this week, so Amazon has had plenty of time to review prices that the competition is offering.

Assuming they follow the same pattern as last year, their press release should come out on November 16, which is eight days before Thanksgiving. They will probably begin their “Countdown to Black Friday Sale” on November 18, which is a full week of holiday deals. Of course, you should wait until Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday for the best doorbusters.

Since Amazon does not offer free shipping with no minimum order size, it is important to know their terms. Prime members can enjoy free two-day shipping on all orders, but non-Prime members must spend at least $49 in order to qualify for free shipping. Compared to the competition, Amazon’s shipping policy is extremely mediocre. Best Buy and Target are both offering free shipping with no minimum size on every order, so keep that in mind for small orders.

Macy’s Black Friday 2016 Ad Projected Release Date

In order to give you an idea of what Macy’s ad will look like, you can find a screenshot of the first page of their ad from last year below.

From 2012 to 2015, Macy’s released their ad in October three out of the four years, so it is a surprise that they are holding out this year. Regardless, most of the ads from their competitors are now out, so it is likely that Macy’s releases their ad towards the early parts of next week.

As the screenshot from their 2015 Black Friday ad shows, Macy’s opened at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving. For 2016, they will open at 5 p.m., which has already brought them significant backlash. Macy’s spokeswoman Holly Thomas told Fortune the reason to open earlier.

“In response to significant, ongoing customer interest in shopping on Thanksgiving, both at Macy’s and at many other retailers, we will be opening our full-line department stores at 5pm on Thanksgiving Day.”

Whether the Macy’s ad is leaked or they release it themselves remains to be seen, but it should be out by Wednesday. Otherwise, this year would mark the latest that it has been released in years.

eBay’s Black Friday 2016 Ad Projected Release Date

In order to give you an idea of what eBay’s ad will look like, you can find a screenshot of the first page of their ad from last year below.

Typically thought of as more of a player on Cyber Monday, eBay has had one of the stronger Black Friday sales in recent years. With everything online, the typical process of waiting outside for long hours on Thanksgiving and Black Friday is avoided.

Their Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday ads were released last year on November 14, which is around the same time they usually come out. For 2016, expect them towards the middle of next week.

eBay GM of Deals Jesse Kiefer recently provided BestBlackFriday.com with insight into their upcoming holiday sale.

“Cost-conscious shoppers should do their homework to find the best deals throughout the holiday season, especially for big-ticket items such as TVs, laptops, and gaming consoles. And, they should look at more than just the price. Most items featured on eBay’s Deals pages ship for free, include 30-day returns, and offer the opportunity to purchase a 1, 2, or 3-year warranty at a cost that is much lower than what a buyer warrantee typically costs at big box retailers.”

Additionally, Kiefer noted that eBay’s sale will start on Thanksgiving.

“Specific to great Black Friday deals, eBay will be launching hundreds of new deals starting at midnight (11/24). New deals will post every two hours throughout the night and all day on Black Friday.”
