’90 Day Fiance’ Renewed For Season 5, New Spinoff ‘Before The 90 Days’ In The Works

90 Day Fiance and its spinoff 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After has been renewed for a fifth and second season, respectively. Following the reality shows’ high ratings, not only did TLC announce the renewal ahead of the finale, the network is already prepping for yet another spinoff titled, 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days.

According to Yahoo! TV, TLC has officially renewed both 90 Day Fiance and 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After. Another spinoff, with the working title, 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, is also already in the works. The new reality series will reportedly follow couples who already have an existing relationship online but haven’t met each other in person. Viewers then will get to go along the couple’s journey as they meet each other for the first time and attempt to establish a real relationship offline. For one to get a K-1 visa, the U.S. government recommends at least having a five-week relationship to prove that they are a real couple.

It did not come as a surprise that TLC wanted another 90 Day Fiance spinoff given how the show has been doing so far. The site reported that 90 Day Fiance and 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After have an average of 1.6 million total viewers. Both shows also hit season-high TV ratings with last Sunday’s episode, “Confessions of a Fiance” and “90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After Reunion,” among women 18-49 and 18-41 demographic.

This Sunday, 90 Day Fiance will air a two-hour episode beginning at 8/7c. Part 2 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? Tell All will follow two hours later.

In last week’s episode of 90 Day Fiance Season 4, “Confessions of a Fiance,” Narkyia and Lowo continued to deal with their trust issues. After Lowo lied about almost everything when they first met online, it wasn’t surprising that Narkyia had a hard time believing every word he says. Narkyia, however, is determined to make their relationship work even if it meant traveling all the way to Vietnam just to check on Lowo. Surprisingly, Lowo was thrilled when she heard about Narkyia’s plans.

“I don’t care whatever reason or agenda she came here for, to check up on me whatever. I’m just glad that she’s here to be honest,” Lowo said.

Narkyia, on the other hand, admitted that not being with Lowo brought up her insecurities. It also did not help that she’s planning their wedding all by herself.

“I feel like us being together will make my insecurities go away because the distance and not being together and not being to see what’s going on, that adds to my insecurities. I’m hoping that things will be better and I wont feel like that anymore,” she said.

Being together, however, doesn’t seem to resolve their issues. In the last 90 Day Fiance Season 4 episode, Lowo started to get frustrated with Narkyia constantly doubting him and his intentions.

“I know the initial stages of our relationship I messed it up. I f**ked it up. If I’m going to be your husband then you really have to trust me,” Lowo told Narkyia.

But Narkyia insisted they see an immigration lawyer to help speed up the process. Narkyia’s suggestion seemed to irritate Lowo even more. The 90 Day Fiance Season 4 star pointed out that a Nigerian woman would never act the way Narkyia is behaving. He explained that as a woman, her role is to have complete trust in her husband. While she respects Lowo’s culture, she told him that she’s not about to “step back in the 1950s” just to keep him happy.

“Lowo and I have a lot of cultural differences. He feels like he’s a man, I’m a woman, I shouldn’t ask him so many questions. But I am independent and if I hear you start to say something I don’t like I’m gonna cut you like, ‘No.’ And I don’t know if that’s gonna cause problems later down the road.”
