For months, viewers have known that she was leaving the long-running soap opera. However, the reason Theresa leaves Salem was not unveiled until recently. In an interview, Lilley discussed why she chose to leave the soap opera and if Theresa could return to Salem one day.

DOOL spoilers are ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know the details.

Fans have a lot of questions, including when is Jen Lilley’s final air date on Days Of Our Lives? According to the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Theresa Donovan will appear for the last time on November 18. After today’s heartbreaking episode, what can viewers expect? It won’t be Theresa’s death, that’s for sure.

“Theresa doesn’t die, so there is an open end where I can come back, and I would absolutely love to do that.”

Days Of Our Lives spoilers from the magazine reveal that Theresa does have a close call with death, though. On Friday, viewers were shocked to see Jen Lilley’s character do drugs and drink alcohol. The pain of hurting Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and leaving her son, Tate, was just too much. On Monday’s episode, Theresa will overdose and Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) finds her lifeless body. She is rushed to the hospital and Victor asks Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to help the troubled young woman. Sneak peek photos show Victor comforting Brady, who looks devastated and shocked.

In an interview with the publication, Jen Lilley revealed why she left Days Of Our Lives. The actress cited both professional and personal reasons. She lost out on several acting jobs because she couldn’t do them and the soap opera at the same time. Lilley also explained that she felt her family was being sacrificed.

“Jason’s gone on every single family vacation alone the last three years. I just felt like I was starting to compromise my actual family for my on-set family, and as much as I love everyone at Days Of Our Lives, you have to keep your real family bonds strong. Also, I’m fostering now, which is awesome. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I just knew that I would not be able to do that and balance the soap schedule at the same time.”

Jen revealed that the first person on the set that she told was Eric Martsolf, who plays Brady Black. He didn’t want Lilley to leave Days Of Our Lives, but insists that she will be back someday.

“In a perfect world, I would keep on playing Theresa, just like how Eileen Davidson has played Kristen [DiMera]. I would come back and do some arcs. That would be amazing.”

A few weeks ago, Eric Martsolf revealed that Theresa would leave Salem suddenly. Since she doesn’t die on Days Of Our Lives, she must leave shortly after her overdose. Right now, it seems like she will go to Mexico with Mateo because she feels she doesn’t have another option. Another theory is that she will back out and go on the run. However, Theresa wouldn’t leave Brady and Tate unless she absolutely had to. It’s just too bad that Brady doesn’t know the sacrifices she is making to keep them safe.

What do you think of what Jen Lilley had to say about Theresa on Days Of Our Lives? Are you sad to see the character leave Salem? Stay tuned because her final air date is next Friday.
