Chili’s And Outback Steakhouse Veterans Day 2016 Menu Deals, Free Meals

On Friday, many restaurants, including Chili’s and Outback Steakhouse, have Veterans Day 2016 menu deals and free meals to consider. These popular chains are just two of a good number of eateries and establishments giving veterans rewards for their service to the country. However, the fact that they tend to have locations in pretty much all areas of the United States will make them two choices that many veterans and their families may be visiting for their Friday evening dinners.

According to Heavy in their November 11 story, Chili’s restaurants around the country are offering a free meal on Veterans Day from their special menu of five choices. The freebie extends to all veterans and active duty military members. The Chili’s Veterans Day menu choices include Oldtimer with Cheese, Soup & Salad, Chicken Crispers, Chipotle Chicken, and Margherita Flatbread. In order to receive the free meal, veterans or activity duty military personnel must present a valid military ID, be dressed in their uniform, or have either a U.S. Uniform Services Retired ID card or Leave and Earnings Statement.

The Outback Steakhouse restaurant chain won’t have a free meal, but they will have a special free menu item available for those who have served, or currently serve in the military. The restaurant chain will give veterans and active duty personnel a free Bloomin’ Onion with a Coca-Cola beverage as a “thank you” for their service. To get this freebie, those who have served, or are currently serving, in the U.S. military must present one of the required forms of valid identification.

These can include a U.S. Uniformed Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, a DD214 certificate, Veteran Identification card, or Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES). Also, an individual can wear the military uniform to Outback to get the deal or present a photograph of themselves in uniform.

Outback will reportedly offer an extended discount deal for military families from November 12 through December 31, 2016. All families of former or current military personnel will receive an additional 15 percent off their orders at participating Outback Steakhouse restaurants during that time.

The promotion called “The MilitaryMates 15% Off Discount” is offered to military personnel and their immediate family members. Just as with the free Bloomin’ Onion deal mentioned above, the same forms of identification are required in order to receive this special discount at Outback Steakhouse.

It’s always important to remember that free meals or special menu deals can differ from region to region. Not all Chili’s or Outback Steakhouse locations may honor the deal, so calling ahead is always the best option. It’s also a good idea to consult the restaurants’ official websites to get complete details about their menu deals and freebies so that proper forms of identification are brought along, or requirements to get the deals are met.

The Veterans Day holiday has been an annual day of thanks for members of the United States military. It was originally called “Armistice Day” when the holiday was first established back in November of 1919. It wasn’t until 1938 that it became an official national holiday, and in 1954 President Dwight Eisenhower officially changed the name of the holiday to Veterans Day. Now the holiday is celebrated each and every year on November 11 with free meals and deals given out by a variety of restaurants and businesses.

While the Chili’s and Outback Steakhouse Veterans Day menu deals and free meals offered are great options, there are a variety of others. USA Today has a thorough listing of other freebies, deals, and meals to consider for those with different restaurants or establishments nearby.
