‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Nov. 11, FR0ST-EE5 Boots Step In For First Time

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners looking ahead to Xur’s visit in Destiny this week get a brand new Exotic to purchase from the mysterious vendor. This is good news for hunters who like their boots, but Titans and Warlocks will have some familiar items to choose from.

This week’s hiding spot for Xur is in the Reef social area. You’ll want to turn right from the spawn point, head down the stairs past the Bounty vendor, and then go in the first door to the right of the bottom of the stairs. The Agent of the Nine is tucked away in a corner on the right.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Monte Carlo

The Monte Carlo is for those Guardians who want to make the most out of their melee ability. This Auto Rifle reduces Melee cooldown when dealing damage and can completely recharge the Melee ability with kills. This stacks excellently with Exotic armor such as Sealed Ahamkara Grasps for Hunters, which grants Nightstalkers two Smoke Grenades and Gunslingers two Throwing Knives.

Twilight Garrison

The main draw for the Twilight Garrison is the fact it makes Titans more mobile. The Tactical Air Support intrinsic perk allows players to do an evasive move while airborne by pressing B, B on the Xbox One or Circle, Circle on the PS4. This piece is best used in Crucible and is very helpful for dodging incoming fire and Supers.

The 64 Intellect/65 Discipline split roll is strong for the piece, and it comes with the option to carry more Special Ammo or Heavy Ammo. It also comes with a choice between increased recovery when taking Solar damage or more armor when playing the Sunbreaker in Destiny.

FR0ST-EE5

The FR0ST-EE5 Boots were added to Destiny with the Rise of Iron expansion and serve to make Hunters dodgier on the ground. The “Rapid Cooldown” intrinsic perk boosts melee and grenade energy regen, but also decreases the wearer’s turn radius. This means sharper turns to avoid incoming fire or to ambush an opposing player in the Crucible.

The boots come with the choice between carrying extra Sidearm or Heavy Weapon ammo in the third column. The final column perk is Void Double-Down for increased Agility for five seconds after a Void double kill.

These boots primarily serve their purpose in the Crucible, and they are still just okay there depending on your play style and what other Exotic items you have. Still, they are worth grabbing to add to your collection since this is the first time FR0ST-EE5 have gone on sale with Xur.

Apotheosis Veil

The Apotheosis Veil lost its uniqueness from Year One when Bungie introduced the “Infusion” and “Better Already” perks in Year Two. This resulted in the helmet’s intrinsic perk being boosted to grant full health, melee, and grenade energy when activating a Super.

The optional perks have the right roll with “Ashes to Assets” for grenade kills and “Heavy Lifting” for bonus Super energy from Heavy Weapon kills. The third column perk is set as “Infusion,” which replenishes health after picking up Orbs of Light.

The 100 pure Intellect stat roll is right at the max for this helmet, which is great for getting your Super up quickly. The downside is that it does not come with the “Inverse Shadow” perk, so a re-roll is always an option.
