Chelsea Handler Cries Over Donald Trump Win, Will She Flee The Country As Planned?
Chelsea Handler got emotional as she hosted her Netflix show Chelsea. The comedienne cried over Donald Trump’s win for presidency over Hillary Clinton. Will Handler leave the country and move to Spain like she had planned? Or will she stay and use her platform as a voice for women?
Chelsea Handler hosted an episode of Chelsea without her usual spunk.
“Obviously the result is not what I was hoping for. Like a lot of people in this country, I’m sad, I’m disappointed and I’m confused. But if Hillary [Clinton] can make it through a concession speech, then I can make it through a stupid television show.”
Chelsea’s guest was Senator Barbara Boxer, who also got choked up over the Trump win.
Chelsea Handler had been advocating for Hillary Clinton this election season and was extremely disappointed with the results, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“I guess the message that I want to spread out to other women is exactly what you’re saying, is not to give up. Sorry, I hate f**king crying on camera.
“It’s so easy to say throw in the towel and that we’re going to leave or I’m going to move to Spain, because I want to move to Spain. I really, really want to move to Spain right now.”
Before Trump won the election, Chelsea Handler had repeatedly talked about moving to her house in Spain if he became president. Will she actually go through with it now that Donald Trump is the President-elect of the United States?
“I did buy a house in another country just in case, so all of these people that threaten to leave the country and then don’t — I will leave the country,”
However her coworkers at Chelsea don’t want to see her go.
“Everyone in my office is like, ‘You have a responsibility, you have a voice and you need to use it, and you have to be here.'”
Boxer shared Handler’s disappointment and admitted that her “heart is on the floor.”
“It’s not where you are when you’re high and doing great; it’s when you fall down. A lot of us are on the ground right now.”
Boxer also pointed out that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote nationally, but lost the Electoral College vote. She also goes into the complexity of the Electoral College and how difficult it would be to change the Constitution.

Will Chelsea Handler go through with her plans to move to Spain after Donald Trump was elected as the President of the United States? Or will she stay and continue to speak out against Trump.
“When you say, ‘I want to leave. I want to go,’ of course — it’s the flight syndrome. That’s just what the people who gave this hateful message want us to do, and we’re not going to do it.”
Chelsea Handler also took to Instagram to share a personal message and a further explanation.
She also posted a quote from Hillary Clinton’s concession speech on Wednesday.
“Please never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is worth it. It is, it is worth it. And so we need — we need you to keep up these fights now and for the rest of your lives.”
It looks like Handler will continue fighting in honor of Hillary Clinton.
