‘Snickers’ Shoplifter Gets Attacked, Strip-Searched In New York 7-Eleven [Video]

An alleged shoplifter got more than he bargained for when he tried to swipe a candy bar from a convenient store in Brooklyn, New York earlier this week.

According to the New York Daily News, 29-year-old David Golson tried to steal a Snickers bar at around 11:15 pm from the Flatbush Avenue 7-Eleven, located near the Barclays Center, on Wednesday.

After his attempted pilfering, three over zealous clerks chased Golson, dragged him back into the store and ripped his clothes off in order to get their precious chocolate bar back.

The video of the ordeal was recorded by a bystander Wednesday, and then promptly posted online.

“I got nothing man! Why you biting me?!” Golson shouts out to two uniformed clerks and a plainclothes worker as they rip off his shirt and jeans, leaving him nearly nude.

At one point during the altercation, one customer yells:

“This is ridiculous – for some Snickers? This guy has no clothes on … will somebody call the police?”

“We are shutting this store down!” said the man videotaping the bizarre incident. “You’d better not come over here. It’s on camera. You’re attacking somebody. You’re attacking him.”

Golson was ultimately arrested and charged with robbery, assault, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property.

As for the passionate employees who strip-searched Golson, a 7-Eleven spokesperson told NBC 4 New York that one was fired, while the two others will have to retake a class regarding safety and security at the convenience store.

The spokesperson added corporate policy and training prohibits workers from getting into physical altercations with suspected criminals.
