Demi Lovato Voting For Donald Trump? Why Her Tweet Confused Fans

Demi Lovato has made it clear that she’s voting for Hillary Clinton. She has been a big part of the presidential nominee’s campaign. Demi even spoke during the Democratic National Convention. But her latest tweet has fans scratching their heads.

Demi Lovato supposedly went on a recent Twitter spree on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The “Cool For the Summer” singer wanted to poke fun at her rumored sexuality by tweeting, “Sometimes you have to agree to disagree and grab some p***y,” according to celebrity entertainment outlet Breathe Heavy. To some, it would seem like Lovato is defending Donald Trump and his controversial comments about sexual assault, but she has been an outspoken advocate for Clinton in recent years.

Just a few hours ago, Lovato took to Instagram to post a photo of herself next to Clinton along with the hashtag #ImWithHer. She has since removed the tweet from her Twitter account, but you can view it in all of its NSFW glory here.

Lovato was attempting to be funny by poking fun at her sexuality, which she has been coy about in the past. When addressing the meaning behind her single “Cool for the Summer,” she has hinted that she likes both guys and girls. Lovato’s tweet was in poor taste considering today is Election Day, which means the outcome could affect millions of people.

She was aware that her joke was inappropriate. She then tweeted, “Someone take my twitter away from me,” which was also later deleted. Then, Lovato finally followed up with an apology about her controversial tweet.

This isn’t the first time that Lovato has caused controversy on social media. Over the summer, the singer and actress quit both Twitter and Instagram. On June 20, Lovato announced to her followers that she was officially done with both social media apps, as reported via D-Listed. She said she realized that she had to “quit sayin’ s***” and just escape both Instagram and Twitter for good. But she was sticking around on Snapchat because she liked the fact that she doesn’t receive backlash on that app.

Of course, Lovato’s social media absence didn’t last for long. She returned 24 hours later with a promise that she was going to be more outspoken and honest than ever before. Lovato has not yet quit social media, but she has announced her music career break amid the reports that she wants to become a UFC fighter. Lovato’s decision has been influenced by her new boyfriend Luke Rockhold.

The two were first linked back in August. Rockhold and Lovato were spotted attending the Los Angeles Rams game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Nov. 6, according to Celebuzz. The new pair sat inside the VIP suite at the Los Angeles Coliseum, where Lovato and Rockhold cheered on the Rams alongside Diplo, The Game, January Jones, Josh Duhamel, and Miles Teller.

“They looked happy,” an insider told Celebuzz.

“They spent this weekend at the LA Rams game and just together, everything is moving so well. They really work with each other. He brings such a different and adventurous side to her that she didn’t know she had and she is loving every minute of being with him,” another alleged insider exclusively told Hollywood Life.

After the game, Lovato, 24, and Rockhold, 32, were seen having sushi dinner in West Hollywood before the two went to Hamburger Mary’s to host bingo night, where the two reportedly got flirtatious.

“Demi and Luke couldn’t keep their hands off each other all night,” another eyewitness told The Sun. “Demi was laughing and joking about her sobriety with the drag queens and it seemed she was happier than ever.”

Lovato ended her relationship with Wilmer Valderrama, 36, earlier on this summer. Though she revealed she was not looking for another long-term relationship following her split, she seems very serious with Rockhold.
