‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Episode 4 ‘Service’ Preview — Dwight’s Conflict And A Comic Story Arc Close To Daryl’s [Spoilers]

AMC’s The Walking Dead season seven saunters forth with episode four’s “Service” show this Sunday as fans got an idea of what the Saviors’ compound looks like and although Dwight, played by Austin Ameilo, may side with Negan, there had been revelations where his people have or will be reaching a tipping point of an intolerant living situation. Though there is a difference in the show and the comic book, the latter seems to be the blueprint of the storytelling process, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Spoilers from the comic are ahead.

Dwight may be a bad guy in action, but a good guy at heart as he is seen pondering his situation and this Sunday, audiences will witness the arrival of Negan in Alexandria. Could that episode set something off and tie into where Dwight could be headed? Will he be a part of the Savior shakedown of foods and goods?

A recent preview of episode four of “Service” was revealed.

Humanizing Characters And Coping In The Zombie Apocalypse

You see, the show is more than just about the walkers, it’s about the people and how they are coping with life after the zombie apocalypse. Like with Carol, she reached a tipping point where she left the nicer community of Alexandria and even didn’t want to be within the confines of The Kingdom.

Now just think of the same kind of people under the regime of Negan’s venue as he even antagonizes people that are close to him. This was already displayed when Dwight had caught up with one of the escapees and demanded he return to the complex. There seems to be more opportunities like this one that would make him rethink his life at the Saviors complex, along with his wife.

The Walking Dead Comic Story Arc In Line With Daryl?

Comparisons can be made between Dwight’s embodiment of Daryl. There’s a point in the graphic novel where Dwight leads an attack against Alexandria, but fails. He is then imprisoned in a cell at the venue. Perhaps Morgan Jones’ nicely crafted cell block will serve the same purpose for Dwight on TV?

It appears the comic book story arc for Dwight being held up in a jail cell somewhat parallels Daryl’s imprisonment at the Saviors complex.

Moving forward, there’s still the issue of finding the complex as it was completely overlooked in Season 6. The comic shows Dwight’s release from Alexandria to avoid further hassle from Negan, but Rick Grimes has Jesus, played by Tom Payne on TV, tail Dwight to figure out the location.

Tables do eventually turn as King Ezekiel allies with Rick Grimes and Dwight, trying to pry their way out from under the thumb of Negan. Even The Kingdom’s leader has its covert methods.

But will other Saviors be sick of Negan’s methods just as much as Dwight could very well be? Negan marrying Dwight’s wife, Sherry, played by Christine Evangelista on the TV show, wouldn’t be something favorable for any normal human — so who knows what kind of influence Dwight could have on the inside of the Saviors complex?

During Dwight’s infiltration methods in The Walking Dead comics, he becomes very adept at the art of deception for the end game scenario. Even Rick becomes fooled by his faked treachery for the purpose of making it seem like he’s still on Negan’s side.

But since the comic book version is focused on Dwight’s walker espionage, how will Daryl play into all this if it does happen. Will they wind up partnering up as a more of an efficient team when trying to take down Negan?

It seems that The Walking Dead arcs between Dwight’s comic character and Daryl’s TV version are rather similar as they started off with an origin story as an outsider, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Daryl eventually came to terms with his own conflicts and demons as especially realized when he opened up to Beth Greene, played by Emily Kinney. They also both question themselves constantly, Daryl still does, especially when he was trying to get settled into Alexandria when he first arrived.

Do you think Daryl will somehow merge with Dwight in some fashion? How close will their story arcs be?

Just keep watching on AMC’s The Walking Dead which airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST. Episode four of “Service” premieres next week.
