Shannon Beador On Kelly Dodd: Dodd Admitted Spousal Abuse Was Just A Rumor

Shannon Beador had been labeled as one of the mean girls this season alongside Heather Dubrow and Tamra Judge. The three friends stood together on The Real Housewives of Orange County and both Tamra and Heather were quick to come to Beador’s defense when rumors started flying about her marriage. It wasn’t until the end of the season, but Vicki Gunvalson and Kelly Dodd started talking about how Shannon’s husband David beats her, referencing a police report from 2003. Beador was furious, calling the accusations lies and pointing to her co-star’s lack of credibility.

According to a new Bravo report, Shannon Beador is now revealing that her husband doesn’t beat her and she would like to remind The Real Housewives of Orange County viewers that even Dodd herself admitted that she had no substantial evidence of David beating his wife and that it was just a rumor that she had heard.

“I had no idea that Kelly thought I was trying to ambush her. Vicki again was trying to manipulate the situation by filling Kelly’s head with inaccurate assumptions— which is why I was so confused about the attack on the bus. Kelly says that she was backed into a corner and I am still trying to figure out what corner I put her in,” Shannon Beador starts her Bravo blog in relation to Dodd, sharing that she had the best intentions for her co-star.

“Hey skinny a**hole, didn’t stir anything. Just telling my friend the truth when asked a question #rewind.”

When they were in Ireland, Shannon Beador was accused of trying to get her co-star very drunk by ordering double shots for the ladies. Beador went up to the bartender after placing the order and she whispered to the bartender that she wanted to change the order from single shots to double shots. This was after Shannon completely ignored Dodd’s wishes about not drinking alcohol, which made her look rude and calculated. And it was this behavior that sparked Kelly’s outburst on the bus on the way to the airport in Ireland.

“After getting annoyed at Vicki when she realized that Vicki was saying unkind things about her earlier that night, Kelly decided to share that Vicki told her David ‘beats’ me. That is a horrible allegation to throw out. She admitted to Michael when she came home that it was only a ‘rumor’ and it was ‘none of her business.’ Vicki knew exactly what she was doing when she gave Kelly this false information about my husband because she knew that eventually Kelly would blurt it out. Yet another example of Vicki’s manipulations,” Shannon Beador explains in her Bravo blog for The Real Housewives of Orange County, sharing that she’s convinced that Vicki fed Kelly comments about her marriage, which Dodd simply tried to use as ammunition during their argument.

It’s interesting that Dodd told her husband that she had indeed just heard the beating story as a rumor. She didn’t say that she had heard it from Gunvalson, but it is quite possible that she didn’t want to say that as she wanted to protect her friend. It sounds like these women will have plenty of things to discuss on the reunion special, including why Kelly thought it was appropriate to repeat a rumor just to cause hurt for Shannon Beador and her family.

“Kelly somehow believes that ordering someone a drink when they don’t want one justifies making a false statement about my spouse ‘beating me’???” Shannon Beador points out in her blog, sharing that she looks forward to the reunion special, where she can set the record straight.
