Capcom Games: ‘Street Fighter 5’ Season 2 First DLC Character Playable At PSX 2016? ‘Dead Rising 4’ Holiday Edition Inbound

Capcom recently announced the next Street Fighter 5 DLC character joining its roster of fighters. Meanwhile, a special game edition for Dead Rising 4 is hitting the shelves as well.

Shown first during the Redbull Battlegrounds tournament, Akuma’s arrival as the newest DLC character was confirmed through a teaser trailer. According to Attack of the Fanboy, Akuma is possibly the first Street Fighter 5 DLC character that will grace the Capcom game’s Season 2. The fighting game’s first season brought in six post-launch DLC characters, namely, Alex, Urien, Guile, Balrog, Juri and Ibuki.

The teaser for Street Fighter 5’s upcoming DLC character also revealed a new stage showing a rainy background. Watch SFV’s Akuma teaser reveal trailer video below.

For those who are curious to know the meaning of the kanji appearing on Akuma’s back in the latest Street Fighter 5 teaser, Eventhubs explained that it “translates to ‘god’ above ‘man’ or perhaps more accurately ‘god-like.'”

The kanji is not actually a new one as Shin Akuma already had it on his back in Capcom vs SNK 2 game that was released in 2001. Discussing further what gamers can expect from the next Street Fighter 5 DLC character based on his kanji, the Eventhubs report shared the following.

“This is leading us to believe we’ll be seeing Akuma at a higher capacity than in his traditional form. Given Street Fighter 5’s V-Trigger system, perhaps his activation will see him become Shin Gouki, but that’s total speculation at this point.”

Akuma, the raging demon, had his debut in the 1994 title Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo as a hidden boss and a secret character. He is also coming to Tekken 7 set for release next year.

Capcom has not revealed yet the official release date of Street Fighter 5’s forthcoming DLC character, but it will be playable at PlayStation Experience 2016 happening from December 4 to 5 in Anaheim, California.

As for other Capcom games news, aside from the standard version, the upcoming installment for the Dead Rising game is getting a special edition as well. Dead Rising 4 Holiday Edition on Xbox One is currently available for pre-order exclusively at EB Games.

According to its official product page on EB Games Australia website, this special edition of the game on Xbox One will include not only the copy of Dead Rising 4 but also a Steelbook cover and a Frank West Holiday Snow Globe. Gamers who will avail the Dead Rising 4 Holiday Edition, priced at $AUD109.95, should also find a DLC pack containing a Sliceycle Bike and a Steam Punk Snowman Head. The open-world survival horror video game filled with ravening zombies are also bringing in more weapons, vehicles and crafting options.

“It’s the holiday season in Willamette, Colorado, and a mysterious outbreak has overrun the Willamette Memorial Megaplex Mall and the surrounding town with dangerous and deadly predators,” the game description for Capcom’s Dead Rising 4 Holiday Edition reads.

“Amidst the chaos, photojournalist Frank West returns 16 years after the events of Dead Rising. An ordinary guy that finds himself in extraordinary situations, Frank seeks to uncover the truth behind a government conspiracy responsible for the outbreak. But a clandestine military operation, a former student gone rogue, and a cunning new breed of zombie are all after the same evidence. Frank will have to get to the truth first… or die trying.”

Dead Rising 4 will highlight two all-new zombie classes. The Fresh zombies are “newly zombified victims that will turn in front of your eyes and exhibit superior speed and ferocity.” On the other hand, Evo zombies show “superior strength and mobility that mimic the behavior of predatory hunting animals.” The Capcom game’s standard and holiday edition are both scheduled for a December 6 release.
