‘Pretty Little Liars’ Spoilers: Aria & Ezra’s Wedding To End In Disaster? ‘There Are No Happy Endings’

Pretty Little Liars looks set to go out with a bang when the drama wraps up on Freeform next year.

Producer Marlene King recently shared a snap from the set with her fans on Instagram, and it appeared to suggest that fans hoping for the series to bow out with a happy ending could end up being disappointed.

Marlene took to the social media site to post a photo of a chalkboard from Alison’s classroom on the set, which featured a cryptic quote by poet Shel Silberstein that may have given Pretty Little Liars fans a tease of what’s to come in Season 7b.

“There are no happy endings,” the quote, written in chalk on the Pretty Little Liars set’s chalkboard, began. “Endings are the saddest part. So just give me a happy middle and a very happy start.”

“Last pic I took of Ezra’s then Ali’s classroom,” Marlene captioned the photo, but didn’t dish any further details on exactly who, if anyone, the quote could spell bad news for when Pretty Little Liars comes to a close. “Epic light courtesy of @larryreibman. #prettylittleliars #pllseriesfinale #pllforever.”

King didn’t give too much more away when it comes to her social media spoilers, though her cryptic post got some Pretty Little Liars fans speculating that Marlene’s message hinted that the show’s characters may not be getting the happy ending viewers have been hoping for.

Notably, Marlene’s Instagram post came just days after eagle-eyed Pretty Little Liars viewers speculated that Season 7b could finally see Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding) get married after Harding uploaded a photo of Hale in character as Aria wearing what appeared to be a wedding dress.

Pretty Little Liars fans were sent into meltdown after Ian posted the shot of Hale to his Instagram account last month, as it appeared to show Lucy wearing a veil and covering what appeared to be a wedding dress with Ian’s letterman jacket.

“This one has made every day of work a total joy. Thank you for putting up with my dumb songs and my affinity for not shutting up. You’re a gem miss Hale,” Harding captioned the photo of Lucy on the Pretty Little Liars set. “I’ll miss you tremendously. Much love and Happy wrap.”

Ian did not allude to a potential wedding, or the fact that Hale appeared to be discreetly showing off Aria’s dress and veil, in the photo’s caption, though, many Pretty Little Liars fans were quick to point out that the photo could have been taken as the cast were filming Aria and Ezra’s wedding.

King teased that a wedding would be coming up during Season 7b of Pretty Little Liars back in September after the producer shared a spoiler in the form of a line of dialogue from an upcoming script in which one character alluded to saying their wedding vows.

Marlene shared a sneak peek at some dialogue from the upcoming second half of Season 7 on September 29, posting a snap to Twitter of a line from a script that read, “If you don’t stop looking at me like that, I’m never going to be able to say my vows without the ugly cry.”

But could the producer’s latest spoiler tease be hinting that there’s no happy ending for Aria and Ezra after all during the Pretty Little Liars finale? Could Aria be revealed as Uber A during her and Ezra’s wedding?

While King didn’t reveal which character utters the line, another Pretty Little Liars cast member did hint that it could all end in disaster for Aria and Ezra, whether they have a wedding or not, after giving away a few spoilers and teasing earlier this year that she believes Aria will be revealed as Uber A during the finale.

“I think it’s going to be Aria,” Vanessa Ray, who played Charlotte DiLaurentis, told Us Weekly of who she believes will finally be unmasked as Uber A when Pretty Little Liars draws to a close.

“I think like early in the early days, she just kind of had the most to lose. [Aria] was hurt the most by the antics that ‘A’ put her through,” Ray continued of who she thinks is the Pretty Little Liars villain, “so that’s why I think she might be the one that’s coming back to get them all.”

Pretty Little Liars Season 7b will premiere on Freeform in April 2017.

What do you think about Marlene King’s big Pretty Little Liars spoilers tease? Do you think Aria and Ezra’s relationship and possible wedding will end in disaster?
