WWE News: Former Champion Misses Wrestling And ‘Cannot Wait To Make A Comeback’
Earlier this year, Daniel Bryan officially retired from in-ring action for WWE and pretty much for all of wrestling. He is still working with the company and is currently the General Manager of SmackDown LIVE and an important on-air personality. Not long after his retirement, his real-life wife Brie Bella decided to step out of the ring and semi-retire from action, but she remained with the company as an ambassador. Well, it seems she misses wrestling a bit too much and is ready for a comeback.
In the spring, Brie Bella was put into a feud with Lana which culminated with a 10-woman tag team match at WrestleMania 32. A couple of days later, she officially stated that she would be taking an extended break from wrestling even though she wouldn’t totally leave WWE.
Now, it’s more than six months later and it appears as if she has arrived at a point where she simply misses wrestling too much. Brie Bella spoke recently with Sky Sports where she revealed that she has an itch to wrestle again and is ready make a comeback now.
“I miss wrestling so much and cannot wait to make a comeback. Would I like to wrestle my sister? I do enjoy that, but I’d like to come back as a Bella Twin and take on Lita and Trish Stratus. You need to make that happen!”
Obviously, her partnering up with her twin sister Nikki and taking on Lita and Trish Stratus isn’t likely, anything is possible in WWE. Still, she does want to wrestle again and it’s obvious that the last six months out of the ring have really gotten to her and made her miss it more.
Brie Bella has been doing a lot of work, but she wants to wrestle again and she isn’t the only one. While Brie may have another chance at wrestling, her husband likely won’t ever be able to have another match in his life. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t miss it.
“He is still surrounded by wrestling and still gets to be creative. It’s obviously hard that he can’t get in the ring but to be around his friends and part of the business in some way helps him, even though he will tell you: ‘Yeah – but I want to be in the ring!'”
Daniel Bryan is the General Manager of SmackDown LIVE and you can tell that he’s truly enjoying himself in the role. Yes, he wants to be back in the ring, but he’s making the most of his new position and the cards that life has dealt him.
That hasn’t stopped him from still dreaming big and looking at matches he would like to have. Bryan recently spoke with Ringside Collectibles about a number of topics including the possibility of one more match.
Bryan named a number of superstars he would like to wrestle including Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, and others. When it all comes down to it, though, Bryan said “I don’t think WWE would let me do another match.”
The wrestling couple has been totally out of the ring for more than half a year now, but only one of them has a true chance of wrestling again. Still, it will be at least a little while until she can pick up where she left off as Brie recently revealed she is indeed pregnant as reported by E News.
Brie Bella never actually said that she was going to retire from in-ring action or wrestling as a whole, but she did want to take time off when her husband had to end his career. It likely made matters a bit easier for Daniel Bryan that his wife could be at his side when he officially retired. Now, the other half of the Bella Twins is ready to return to the sport she loves and take on her sister Nikki as well as others in the WWE women’s division.
