Drake Drops Hints He Really Is Romancing Taylor Swift

Is Drake dating Taylor Swift? The rapper just shared an interesting image with Swift on social media, teasing fans of a potential romance. Are they romancing or just working on a new song?

According to Hollywood Life, Drake posted the image via Instagram and Swift liked it in return. The photograph features the two singers with their backs to the camera. They are both looking at a piece of paper that could be sheet music. At this point, there’s no telling what it is.

“Is that velvet?” Drake wrote alongside the image, adding a flower emoji for extra flourish.

Drake snapped the photo during his birthday party. The event took place late last month at the Delilah establishment in West Hollywood. True to his Instagram comment, Drake rocked a velvet outfit and Swift looked edgy in a leather skirt and crop top.

The party marks the pair’s first public appearance together. The two have been friends for a while now but haven’t been seen in public. They have been going out on dinner dates following the birthday bash and are reportedly looking to take their friendship to the next level.

Swift and Drake have said nothing about their relationship, but Mirror reports that fans have already voiced their opinions about Hollywood’s hottest romance.

“DRAKE AND TAYLOR; SEE SHE IS THE COOLEST,” one fan wrote on Twitter, while another commented, “I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS FOOLERY.”

According to USA Today, Twitter audiences reacted with both surprise and disappointment about the possibility of a romance between Swift and Drake.

“Me: Time to get on the ole Twitter *see Drake and Taylor Swift dating rumors* Me: Welp, that’s enough for today,” one fan shared.

“Can’t wait for Drake and Taylor Swift to break up and write albums dragging each other,” another Twitter user added.

Swift is coming off her shocking breakup with Calvin Harris and whirlwind romance with Tom Hiddleston. It looked like things were going great between Swift and the Thor star, but their love fizzled out after three months.

For Drake, the rapper went public with his relationship with Rihanna during the VMAs. They ultimately decided to put their romance on hold last month, making Drake a single man once again. Does this mean the two are willing to try a relationship now that they are both available?

Although some fans are certainly excited about the prospects of Drake dating Swift, E! News reports that they are only friends and are currently working on a song together. Drake and Swift have some 11 Grammy awards, 56 nominations, and seven top songs between them, so collaborating on a track will likely result in another chart-topping hit.

“The music they have been working on is different,” an inside source told the outlet. “They’ve both been having a great time in the studio.”

Swift might have problems finding love but she’s been a smashing success in the music industry. In fact, the singer is currently the highest-paid female in the industry, pulling down double what Adele makes. Swift also made Forbes‘ rich list with an estimated worth at around $170 million.

Meanwhile, the two have been having such a good time that one eyewitness reports they got a little close and comfy during the birthday party. At one point, Drake even put his arm around the pop star while they discussed something that looked important. Is this another sign that a romance is in the works?

“At one point Drake and Taylor were seen near the DJ together talking, his arm over her shoulder for a minute like a real friend moment. It looked like they were talking about something deep,” the insider revealed.

Despite the appearance of a romance, Seventeen reveals that Swift and Drake are not taking their friendship to the next level. Instead, the pair plans to keep things strictly in the friend zone.

“They are not dating or hooking up,” the source stated. “They are both purely friends.”

This is not the first time Swift has worked alongside a hip hop artist. Back in 2014, Swift joined forces with Kendrick Lamar for the song “Bad Blood.” He even starred in the music video. Given her previous work in other genres, it is not that surprising that Swift is collaborating with Drake.

Drake has not crossed over his genre as much as Swift, but it sounds like that might change in the coming months. Unfortunately, there’s no telling when Swift and Drake will release their song and what the nature of the song will be. The only clue we have is that one source claims the track is “catchy.”

Whatever happens, fans are definitely in for another successful track from the two songwriters. Whether or not their professional friendship evolves into something romantic is yet to be seen.
