Teacher Sued By LeAnn Rimes Claims The Singer Will Not Like What Comes Out In Court

Kim Smiley, the school teacher being sued by LeAnn Rimes, claims the country music star will not enjoy hearing the information which will come out during the court hearings. During an interview with Radar Online, Smiley stated that she had initially considered the possibility of settling the lawsuit but later rejected the idea.

The teacher also claims the attorneys she spoke with told her that Rimes does not have a case. The lawsuit maintains that the educator taped a phone conversation with the singer without permission.

Smiley had this to say about the pending litigation:

“My husband and I talked about settling the suit and we both feel that it’s important to clear our names. If it was just about recording the call, that would be different, but she’s claiming harassment, and that I caused her to go to rehab.”

A source reportedly close to LeAnn told Radar Online that the music star is going ahead with the lawsuit and that, if she was worried about what would come out during the hearings, she wouldn’t have filed court papers in the first place.

The Rimes’ lawsuit alleges that the teacher and mother of six followed a lengthy Twitter battle which pitted the star’s allies and foes against one another, according to ABC News, Brandi Glanville, who was married to Eddie Cibrian when LeAnn fell in love with him, was also frequently the subject of the Tweet war. The alleged cyber bullying on the online social networking website reportedly enhanced the singer’s stress and anxiety.

The school teacher had this to say about struggling to find funds to fight the lawsuit:

“I think she is using her status and money to try and shut us up. She knew about the recording in March, she could’ve sent a cease and desist letter, but instead she chose to plan a rehab stunt and lawsuit, a day after celebrating her birthday for an entire month.”
