Johnny Depp Sells Another Of His Five L.A. Penthouses And Receives Award In Rare Appearance Since Divorce

Johnny Depp has already sold one of his five penthouses from within Eastern Columbia Lofts, which is a building in an Art Deco style in dowtown Los Angeles and there are now reports that the Pirates of the Caribbean star has sold a second unit for $3.90 million. A spokesperson for Partners Trust has shared the details with Mansion Global.

The price the unit penthouse three sold for was $1,287.50 per square foot and is a record for the landmark building in the heart of the city. The publication shares what the new owners got for their money.

“The two-story corner apartment, a.k.a. Penthouse Three, includes 2,400 square feet of interiors—complete with chevron-patterned hardwood floors, dramatic chandeliers, a tufted lounge, bold green walls, and high ceilings—as well as a rooftop garden, skyline views, and enclosed private terrace that provides direct access to the building’s sky deck featuring a pool, spa, and fitness studio.”

Depp originally purchased all five of the penthouses in the building for approximately $7.2 million between 2007 and 2008, due to the builder offering units as a collection. He chose to keep all layouts original.

The largest of the unsold units owned by the actor, which has square footage of 2,400, is priced at $2.649 million, penthouse two has a price tag of $2.75 million and penthouse four is listed at $1.999 million with square footage of 1,780. Penthouse three and penthouse five ($2.545 million) have already been sold.

It is unclear as to whether or not Johnny Depp decided to list the five properties as a result of his public and volatile divorce from Amber Heard. In addition to the penthouses, Depp reportedly listed his 15-bedroom compound in the south of France for $55 million. The former couple reached a divorce settlement in September, which indicated that Depp was to pay Heard $7 million. The actress reportedly donated the entire amount to charity.

Although Depp has refrained from being in the public eye since the dramatic divorce was finalized, over the past week Johnny has stepped out on various occasions. One such occasion was held on Thursday night where the actor was presented with the inaugural Rhonda’s Kiss Healing and Hope Award for his support of cancer patients. People shares the words spoken by Depp upon receiving the award.

“To the parents in the room who I was speaking about earlier, who I have seen melting and their own form of courage.I was one of those parents, for weeks, when my daughter was ill. I lived in the [London] hospital for three weeks with my girl and my kid, not knowing if she was going to make it or not. Parents, please note that you have my utter respect. Please note that you have all my respect, and you have my promise to continue to fight, this noble fight right alongside you at any time. And, we’ll just never give up. It’s as simple as that.”

The actor went on to share that he and his family would have been lost without the people at the hospital who cared for his daughter, Lily Rose, when she was so ill. The actor was said to be in good spirits during the event, despite likely still recovering from all that has transpired in his life over the past few months. Amber Heard has also been spotted on occasion in public and both are continuing on in their various acting projects. It was just revealed this week that Johnny Depp will star in the next Harry Potter film. The announcement was met with mixed reactions from Depp and Harry Potter fans.
