Woven Trend: Kendall Jenner’s Bizarre Couch Looks Like Hilarious Throw Blanket

If you want to keep warm this winter and if you have $52,000 lying around, then you want to take some pointers from Kendall Jenner. The “it girl” and supermodel has a reported net worth of $10 million thanks to her fashion career, beauty endorsements, and ongoing appearances on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. So, Kendall can splurge on an expensive couch if she wants to.

Kendall Jenner told her fans that she dropped a few G’s on a “groovy” new sofa. Entertainment Weekly previously reported the jaw-dropping purchase, which Jenner originally announced on her app and website. Jenner said she purchased the Boa by Edra, a bizarre-looking couch that features woven royal blue material made from velvet.

The piece of furniture was designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana, and Edra describes it as “a large woven nest.” It does not include any structure, and you can wrap yourself up in the 102 meters of woven tubing for a pretty penny, according to Curbed. Jenner admitted that she was happy about the huge investment she made.

“Recently, I realized I’d been really good and came in way under budget on my furniture allowance. I got super excited and bought another amazing couch. One day, I just had a vision about the entry room and knew exactly what it needed. As soon as I saw the couch, I fell in love. The ‘Boa’ by Edra couch is all woven and a really groovy navy with purple shimmer. It works perfectly in the space! I still have a long way to go, but am having so much fun along the way!”

The brunette beauty is very pleased with the way her home decor is turning out, notes Page Six. Jenner just dropped $6 million on a Los Angeles mansion earlier this year, and she has been working with interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard.

“Slowly but surely, my house is finally getting decorated,” she continued. “It’s definitely a process and a lot more work than I anticipated. I’m glad I’m taking it slow and only getting things I really love. And my interior decorator, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, has been a huge help in finding unique pieces.”

Kendall’s new couch is surely unique. It’s reminding some of a hilarious throw blanket that has been going viral on social media sites such as Instagram and Pinterest. This chunky woven blanket is designed by Kiev, a Ukrainian-based Etsy designer, who makes each of her exclusive merino wool blankets and accessories by hand,” according to a new blog post on Bravo TV’s website. The “Grand Punto Blanket” has sparked social media interest, especially with the holidays and cold weather right around the corner.

However, there have been plenty of knockoffs on Etsy that aren’t made the same as Marinenko’s design, which made its debut in late 2015. It can be hard to find an original version of this funky and chunky woven blanket, but you can find similar versions at Eileen Fisher; Bed, Bath & Beyond; Ethan Allen; Pottery Barn; and Land’s End.

And the official retailer named Marinenko has her own personal website, but she sells in the high-end price range of $295-$698.

“One day [I saw] an unusual material that awakened my imagination. I did not have any knitting needles, so I just started to knit with my hands,” she told ThisIsInsider.

So, if you’re on the market for a new chunky blanket, or if you like Kendall Jenner’s funky couch but you can’t afford it, then this is a great option for staying cozy and warm this winter season. These woven blankets are so ridiculous that some styles come over-sized so that you can literally use them as a throw for your couch. They even have a blue option that looks like Jenner’s luscious couch.
