Madonna Joins Katy Perry In Performing For Hillary Clinton

Madonna, who has just been named “Woman of the Year” by Billboard, has just announced that she will be performing a special intimate concert in support of Hillary Clinton on Monday evening, the night before election day. Madonna hasn’t announced how much tickets will cost or where she will give the concert yet. Idolator has the news.

“Madonna is definitely #WithHer. Following her promise of oral sex to those who vote for Hillary Clinton [which was a joke at at an Amy Schumer standup comedy concert] on November 8th, the Material Girl has now announced a ‘surprise intimate concert on Monday night’ in support of the Democratic presidential nominee.”

As Idolator notes, the news came through Madonna’s Instagram account.

Madonna has been a huge advocate of women’s rights, so it’s no surprise that she endorses Hillary Clinton. This concert will no doubt help her prepare for her upcoming charity concert on Dec. 2. Metro UK notes that tickets for the show are quite expensive.

“Madonna is charging fans as much as $150,000 (over £115K) to see her perform in Miami this December. However the Material Girl, 58, can justify the high price tag as it is all in the name of charity. Madonna is the star performer at Art Basel Miami at Faena Forum on December 2nd with her show acting as a benefit for her Raising Malawi charity.”

The $150,000 price tag is actually the highest one. Fans that don’t have that much money to spare can get tickets for as “cheap” as $4,000. Given that this will be one of the very rare intimate gigs in Madonna’s career, die-hard fans may get their money’s worth.

2016 has been a big year for Madonna. Though she spent much of the first half of the year on the wrong side of the headlines due to her child custody battle, Madonna broke touring records, performed a Prince tribute, and was recently named “Woman of the Year” by Billboard.

As Billboard explained when they made the announcement, Billboard‘s president and chief creative officer Janice Min said that with Madonna’s creative vision, relentless innovation, and dedication to helpful societal causes, she is an inspiration to many. Min especially likes that Madonna has been an important feminist who has used her influence to change the conversation around women, sexuality, and equal rights.

Though some people questioned why Madonna was being given this award in 2016 rather than 2005, 1998, or 1990, most of the commenters after the article thought Madonna deserved this prestigious recognition.

“Honestly… Who else? She is simply the best,” said Rafael Rivera Rodriguez.

“Madonna, ‘Billboard’s 2016 Woman of the Year.’ It really should be Madonna, ‘Billboard’s Woman of the Century’….. She is the one true, revolutionary artist that all others dare to be,” claimed D.J.J.J.R.

Madonna won’t be the only one to perform for Hillary Clinton. The Queen of Pop’s good friend Katy Perry will perform a concert as well. Philadelphia Inquirer has the news.

“Hillary Clinton will join Katy Perry onstage at a free concert to be held at the Mann Center this weekend, the Clinton campaign announced Tuesday.”

The article adds that Perry will perform Nov. 5 as part of the campaign’s “Love Trumps Hate” concert series. Doors for the show will open at 5:30 p.m, and the show is free. Which performer would you rather see — Madonna or Katy Perry? Let us know in the comments section.
