Black Friday 2016 Ads: JCPenney And Kohl’s Are The Latest Leaks — Is Walmart Next?

Black Friday 2016, which will take place on November 25 this year, is now only three weeks away. While ads have been leaking daily over the past few weeks, there has been a lack of news from major retailers. That has all changed over the course of the past 24 hours, as Black Friday ads have leaked from JCPenney and Kohl’s.

While frugal shoppers are still anxiously awaiting ads from Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, they are going to have to wait a little longer. The good news is that the remaining ads from major retailers should be out by the end of next week, with Walmart being the last of the group. Amazon does not release a traditional ad, but you can keep an eye on an upcoming press release to announce their doorbusters.

JCPenney Sale Information and Circular

As they did last year, JCPenney will open at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. They will remain open the entire night and end their sale at 5 p.m. on Black Friday. In 2015, their doorbusters ended at 2 p.m. on Friday, so their sale this year is three hours longer. While it is not explicitly stated, their online sale is probably going to be live the entire day on Thanksgiving.

Early arrivers on Thanksgiving at traditional brick-and-mortar locations have the chance to win one of the following coupons.

  • $500 off $500 (valid in-store or at jcp.com 11/24-12/24)
  • $100 off $100 or more (valid in-store or at jcp.com 11/24-12/24)
  • $10 off $10 or more (valid in-store or at jcp.com 11/24-12/24)

While this ad lacks many of the more exciting electronic doorbusters, it does have quite a few solid deals on home items, toys, and clothing. Here are a few notables.

  • Boots for Her for $19.99 (reg. $60-$90)
  • Cooks Power Blender for $7.99 after Rebate
  • Home Expressions 100% Cotton Ombre Stripe or Sold Bath Towel for $2.99 (reg. $10)
  • Up to 40$ Off Major Appliances
  • Pyrex 8-piece Sculptured Bowl Set for $10 after Rebate
  • Cooks 12-piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set for $29.99 after Rebate

All orders over $99 at JCPenney’s website will ship for free. All orders over $25 will ship to your nearest store for free. Considering how easy it is to qualify for free shipping at other retailers, it is not recommended that you ever pay shipping charges on Black Friday. Target and Best Buy will both offer free shipping with no minimum order size this holiday season, and other retailers have easier requirements to meet.

Kohl’s Sale Information and Circular

The 64-page Kohl’s Black Friday 2016 ad was posted to Savings.com on November 3.

As they did in 2015, Kohl’s will begin their in-store Thanksgiving sale at 6 p.m. Black Friday deals will actually begin on their website on Monday, November 21, but many of the top doorbusters will not be available until Thanksgiving. While Kohl’s will remain open all day on Black Friday, their doorbuster sale will end at 1 p.m.

Unlike last year, their first-page doorbusters will also be available online. This has been a recent trend over the past few years, but Kohl’s held out last year. Regardless, they will join the likes of Walmart and Best Buy in ensuring that Black Friday will eventually become more of an online event than an offline sale.

Here are a few notable items from the sale.

  • Sony PlayStation 4 Slim Uncharted Bundle + $75 in Kohl’s Cash for $249.99 (save $50)
  • Microsoft Xbox One S Minecraft Bundle + $75 in Kohl’s Cash for $249.99 (save $50)
  • Fitbit Charge 2 Heart Rate + Fitness Wristband + $30 Kohl’s Cash for $129.99 (save $20)
  • Haier 49-in. 4K Ultra HD TV + $75 Kohl’s Cash for $249.99 (save $100)
  • Save 50 percent on Toys from Various Popular Brands
  • Apple Watch Series 2 38mm + $105 Kohl’s Cash for $369

While the prices on those items will be available at other retailers, the Kohl’s Cash makes all of the difference. Members can earn $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent. While this is not a direct discount, it adds to the overall savings.

Free shipping is available on all orders over $75. This was the rate last year, and it is somewhat surprising that Kohl’s has not dropped to a lower minimum.

Walmart, Best Buy, and Target Projected Black Friday Ad Leak Dates

As the Inquisitr recently reported, the rest of the major leaks should come next week. Based on previous year’s data, here are the projected dates.

  • Target – November 8
  • Best Buy – November 9
  • Walmart – November 10
  • Amazon (Press Release) – November 16, 2016

As noted above, Amazon does not actually have an ad, but they will put out a press release to announce their top doorbusters.
