NBA Score: Russell Westbrook Carries Oklahoma City Thunder Over Los Angeles Clippers

Russell Westbrook has been trying to show the world that he can lead the Oklahoma City Thunder without Kevin Durant around. Thus far, people are believing him because the team is undefeated. Westbrook had another dominant performance on Wednesday. The Thunder defeated the Los Angeles Clippers by a score of 85-83, as reported by ESPN.

Oklahoma City Thunder starters

The only member of the entire Thunder roster that scored more than 10 points against the Los Angeles Clippers was Russell Westbrook. The 6-foot-4 guard ended up with 35 points. It might have been an even bigger night had he not missed all seven attempts from beyond the three point line. Westbrook also had six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Steven Adams did his job on the boards. The 7-foot center pulled down 11 rebounds. Adams also did a pretty good job of keeping DeAndre Jordan off of the boards. That is a pretty tough task.

The other two starting guards struggled to shoot. Victor Oladipo attempted to be the secondary scoring option for Oklahoma City, he only made three shots on 11 attempts. Andre Roberson made just one of the five shots that he took.

Domantas Sabonis continues to be the starting forward, but Thunder head coach Billy Donovan keeps his minutes low. Sabonis only played 17 minutes, but he did manage to hit two shots from the outside.

Oklahoma City Thunder bench

Enes Kanter was the only member of the bench to provide significant contributions. He pulled down 12 rebounds. Kanter attempted to help out on offense, but the 6-foot-11 center missed eight of his 11 attempts.

Veteran backup forward Nick Collison played seven minutes and did not bother to even attempt a shot. Since he is known as quite the team player, Collison simply plays his role.

Los Angeles Clippers starters

Chris Paul came pretty close to having a triple-double. The All-Star guard had 15 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and six steals. Defensively, he could have done better against Russell Westbrook, but the Oklahoma City Thunder star is playing out of this world at the moment.

Blake Griffin was the centerpiece of the offense against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He took 21 shots. Unfortunately, Griffin only made seven of them. He only managed to score 14 points since he was unable to make any of his free throw attempts.

J.J. Redick took a dozen shots and missed nine of them. A career 41 percent shooter from the outside, Redick is only shooting 31 percent thus far this season. The Clippers offense operates at their best when they have an outside shooting threat to draw attention away from Paul, Griffin, and Jordan.

DeAndre Jordan only managed to pull down six rebounds. This is the first game where the 6-foot-11 center has failed to grab more than 10 rebounds. Jordan was up against one of the most physical front court players in the NBA, so that helped contribute to his off night.

Los Angeles Clippers bench

Marreese Speights was the most productive member of the bench. The former Golden State Warriors big man provided 14 points off the bench. Speights did it by shooting 66 percent, which is extremely efficient. One of the things that Clippers head coach Doc Rivers touted when the team signed Speights in free agency over the summer is the fact that the big man is able to pull opposing big men to the outside.

Austin Rivers and Jamal Crawford struggled with their shots. They combined to hit just five out of 19 of their attempts. Had they been a little more accurate, then that might have changed the course of a one point game.
