Kim Kardashian Fires Bodyguard Pascal Duvier, One Month After Paris Robbery

Kim Kardashian has purportedly fired her longtime bodyguard, Pascal Duvier.

According to the Hollywood Life, Duvier who worked for Kardashian and West for four years was fired along with other security detail because the power couple wanted to revamp their security and employ people who carried weapons. A source said it was nothing personal with the German-born bodyguard who owns a security company that caters mainly for celebrities.

“It was nothing personal. Pascal was just reassigned to another client by his parent company. He doesn’t carry a gun; Kim needed someone else to take over her security staff, to make sure all the bodyguards have gun permits.”

Another source said it was difficult decision to fire the 43-year-old burly bodyguard because he had become part of the family.

Pascal Duvier’s firing is coming exactly one month after Kim Kardashian was bound by her hands and feet, threatened at gunpoint, and robbed of over $11 million worth of jewelry in a Paris apartment.

Duvier, who was the 36-year-old reality star’s personal bodyguard, was in a Paris nightclub, watching over Kourtney and Kendall. There were shocking security lapses at the hotel and no alternative security details providing cover for Pascal when the masked men broke into Kim’s apartment.

Kim, who is known to always be in the spotlight, has been under the radar since her harrowing ordeal. However, on Wednesday, she was at Los Angeles spots, Catch and Delilah to celebrate Kendall‘s 21st birthday. The mother-of-two brought three off-duty cops with her who were earning $100-an-hour to watch over her. Her sisters, who were also there for an intimate family dinner, came with their bodyguards as well.

The bodyguards outnumbered the 20 guests in attendance. Surprisingly Kim was not wearing any jewelry on her rare night out. She has also been spotted at her rapper husband’s concerts in California.

Kanye and his wife had shown support for the 6-foot-4 bodyguard who filed for bankruptcy 10 weeks before the Paris robbery over a $1.2 million debt. He was seen in New York after the ordeal still marshaling security for the celebrity couple.

However, inside sources say that Kanye did not want to leave anything to chance with regards to his wife and two kids, North and Saint, and decided to switch things up.

“There will be a lot of things that change now in terms of security, especially with the children…it’s a pretty tough situation overall and they love Pascal, but they couldn’t take any more chances.”

Five days before the robbery, Kim was praising her bodyguard on social media after he stopped and pinned celebrity prankster, Vitalii Sediuk to the ground for trying to grab her from behind as she attended a Paris Fashion Week event.

The reality star had also joked just 24 hours before the heist when she posted a picture of herself as she attended the Balenciaga Fashion Show with Duvier in tow, saying “this guy is always in my shot.”

Pascal, who also shared a love for social media, also posted just a day before the robbery that “you don’t become a bodyguard overnight. It’s a job with dedication, responsibility, and passion.”

The bodyguard was known for also posting pictures on private jets and at one time threatened to block anyone who asked him to deliver messages to his high-end clients.

“Whoever asks me to deliver a message to a client of mine will be muted and blocked. I’m sick of that s***!! I’m not a messenger.”

After the October 3 robbery, the 43-year-old bodyguard made his Instagram account private and deleted all pictures of his famous client and her family. It was not surprising after security experts had slammed the reality star of always documenting her whereabouts to her millions of social media followers.

Pascal had promised to find the robbers, saying there were tips and leads that had emerged from the investigation.

Pascal Duvier is a father-of-two and runs his own security company, Protect Security. He has provided security for a long list of celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Fergie, The Pussycat Dolls, and Will.i.am.
