‘The Bachelor’ Star Nick Viall Has A Full ‘Breakdown’ This Season, Chris Harrison Reveals He ‘Pulls A Full Mesnick’

Who said finding love was easy? Production for The Bachelor is still underway, and the new lead man on the show, Nick Viall, had a full breakdown during his quest to find love.

According to Us Magazine, Bachelor host Chris Harrison confirmed Viall’s epic breakdown during an installment of On with Mario Lopez. Harrison assured skeptical fans that Viall is doing a great job as the star of Season 21.

“I know people were a little reluctant, and they’re giving him a hard time. I hope those people will just trust that we know that we’ve been doing over 15 years. He’s a good man – he’s a really good guy. And he’s doing a good job.”

Viall has been a polarizing figure throughout his four-time run on the dating franchise. He has come in second place twice on The Bachelorette and was often viewed as the villain until his recent stint on Bachelor in Paradise.

In describing Viall’s emotional breakdown, Harrison referenced Jason Mesnick from Season 13. As fans will recall, Mesnick let the waterworks flow after sending Molly Malaney packing in the final round.

Of course, he later picked Malaney during the “After the Final Rose” episode, and the couple is still married and have two kids.

“I will say – a little inside baseball because we’re in the middle of taping right now – he hit a little low point, as all of the Bachelors do,” Harrison explained. “You kind of reach this emotional bottom where you get stripped down. If you know what a Mesnick is, I will let you know that he pulled a full Mesnick. There will be man tears on this season for sure.”

Perez Hilton reports that Viall’s emotional response was a surprise to producers because everything was going so smoothly up to that point.

“Nick was handling everything really well — then everything hit him, and he had a full meltdown,” an inside source revealed. “All of the girls have been crying too. Multiple girls have been crying.”

There’s no telling why Viall suddenly got emotional, but it may have had something to do with his final four suitors. According to Wet Paint, Viall will make history with his final four picks, and it all has something to do with Rachel Lindsay.

It’s already been spoiled that Lindsay received Viall’s First Impression rose and is a clear frontrunner to winning it all. This is important because Lindsay is the first black contestant to win such a rose The Bachelor, and if she makes it to the final four, she might change everything about the series. A black woman has never even gotten to the hometown dates, let alone won an entire season.

Even if Lindsay doesn’t win it all, making it the final four increases her chances of becoming the next Bachelorette. In fact, fans have already voiced their support for Lindsay on Twitter as either winning Viall’s final rose or being The Bachelorette next season.

“The winner or next bachelorette for sure,” one fan wrote.

Granted, it is still early in the process, and there is no telling what Viall will do as the season unfolds. But given how Lindsay won Viall’s first rose, has a great law career, and is a completely stunning lady, it’s a good bet that she goes far in the competition.

Meanwhile, Today has released the first look at Viall as the new star of The Bachelor.

Viall is shown in a promo trailer for the new season and looks confident and in control as the new lead man.

“The next scream you hear may be your own,” a voice-over explains, followed by screams.

Before entering the world of reality TV, Viall worked as a software salesman and a model, and he clearly knows how to strut his stuff. While Viall looks more than happy in his new role, the biggest question remaining is whether or not he will actually find love this time around.

According to Us Magazine, fans can rest assured that love is in the air.

“The season is going very, very well,” a source stated. “Like, one of the best seasons ever. Nick is finding love – for real.”

Another insider pointed out that production is scheduled to end this month, which means Viall is close to handing out his final rose.

Apart from the recent Mesnick meltdown, the only source of drama came from a suitor who Viall had hooked up with in the past. Apparently, Viall met one of the contestants at a wedding this summer and the two slept together.

Their fling ended that night, however, and Viall hadn’t talked to her until she showed up on the show. It isn’t clear how far the suitor made it this season, though the bad start doesn’t bode well.

The new season of The Bachelor is scheduled to premiere in January on ABC.
