Gigi Hadid is a model and a style icon, as can be seen when Gigi walked the runway above for Mugler’s Spring-Summer 2017 Ready to Wear fashion collection in Paris. That was on October 1, but by October 26, Gigi would be celebrating the launch of Stuart Weitzman’s new “Gigi Boot” in New York City.
As can be seen in the below video, Gigi appeared on Today to talk about her new Gigi Boot. Gigi explained to Matt that her “Gigi Boot” comes in three different colors, and that the limited-edition collaboration between Hadid and Weitzman is part of Stuart’s commitment to spend $105,000 to build three schools with Pencils of Promise. Those schools will be located in Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos.
Therefore, folks can feel good about spending $565 for a pair of Hadid’s boots, knowing that some of those proceeds are going towards a good cause.
According to the Weitzman website and the Facebook page of Stuart Weitzman, which posted a video of Gigi wearing the Gigi Boot, the video was directed by James Franco. It was also inspired by Gigi’s real-life workout routine, and features Hadid in the boxing ring, deftly moving around as Hadid wears the high-heel boots.
Gigi also jumps rope wearing the boots.
“Gigi Hadid is the reigning style champ in the Gigi Boot. Watch #DoItRight and get the boot.”
Thus far, the reviews coming in about the Gigi Boot are pretty positive. One reviewer, who called the boots “Sleek in Silver,” described how much she liked Gigi’s boots once she slipped them on. Paired wonderfully with jeans, the boots by Gigi are being called super comfortable, and dressy enough to wear with dresses.
Weitzman — who is known to sell pricey but sturdy shoes and boots — describes the collaboration with Gigi as the creation of a hiking boot that comes in metallic colors or a croc-type of leather.
“The Gigi Boot — a design collaboration between Gigi and Stuart — has arrived. The luxe hiking bootie not only looks amazing but does amazing things: This exclusive style represents our commitment to build three additional schools with Pencils of Promise, an organization dedicated to making quality education accessible to kids everywhere. The boot is available in two shiny metallic hues and a luxe black croc-embossed leather version; all three boast bold metallic eyelets accented by duo-toned laces that are long enough to wrap around the ankle. Get the boot!”
Available in high-shine specchio iron gray, croc-inspired black leather or shiny glass copper, the Gigi boots run from a size four up to a size 12 on Weitzman’s website.
Whereas the heel is three inches, the “shaft height” is listed at 5.25 inches.
The lace-up “Gigi Boot” with the pointed toe and stacked wooden heel seem to be causing a bit of a stir online. Those blessed enough to wear a pair of the Gigi boots would definitely make a fashion statement and gain attention.
Made in Spain, the rubber sole boots with the leather insole could take their wearers through plenty of snowy or rainy weather.
Those who shell out $565 for a pair of the boots by Gigi should also expect them to come in a “limited-edition Gigi signature shoe box and dust bag.”
The copper color of the boots by Gigi are being called especially unique — a comfortable conversation piece that fits pretty much true to the buyer’s boot size. Sleek and striking, the Gigi Boot is being written about by Vogue and other publications as word spreads about the new fashion item by Hadid.
The copper color of the boots can be seen in the above photo from the Pencils of Promise Twitter account.
