Blake Shelton Was Gwen Stefani’s ‘Unexpected Gift’ Following Traumatic Divorce

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were considered by some to be the music industry’s perfect couple, so fans of the high-profile country singers were shocked when they learned that the couple was heading for divorce. Miranda accused her husband of destroying their marriage with an extramarital affair, while people close to Shelton refuted her allegation, stating that it was Miranda who had been having an affair. The failed marriage and subsequent divorce proved to be extremely distressing for Blake Shelton, so much so that the singer/songwriter admitted to being emotionally shattered.

Then along came Gwen Stefani, whose love and compassion enabled Shelton to once again see the beauty in his life. Blake Shelton and Stefani became romantically involved after Shelton’s divorce, and their relationship proved to be a turning point in both their lives. Gwen divorced Gavin Rossdale when she realized that her cheating husband had an affair with the family’s nanny.

In fact, Stefani has even referred to Blake Shelton as an “unexpected gift” following her traumatic divorce, according to Us Weekly.

“Sometimes to be woken up again in life, you need to go through some really bad, hard times. I feel like I got woken up this year. [It has been] mind-blowing.”

The singers had previously worked together when they appeared as judges on The Voice, NBS’s reality television show. Shelton credits Gwen Stefani with turning his life around, because the “Used to Love You” singer had experienced the same kind of breakup that he had, so she was able to relate to his inner turmoil. According to People magazine, Blake Shelton revealed the reason the “Hollaback Girl” singer was able to empathize with him.

“I didn’t really know her that well, Gwen, that first time. Just, ‘Hey, how ya doin’?’ And then to all of a sudden [I] find out she’s going through basically the same exact same thing, at the same time.”

Blake Shelton’s new love has made him happier than ever before because he’s finally found someone who understands him. Shelton’s happiness was clearly evident at his recent concert performances, all of which have been called exceptional.

Recently, Blake Shelton entertained fans by delivering stellar performances at back-to-back concerts held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The two-hour shows included 25 songs, and the crowd loved him as he sang songs like “Lonely Tonight” and “Gonna,” both of which feature on his 2014 album Bringing back the Sunshine. Apart from playing his classic songs, Shelton also sang newer songs like “Came Here to Forget” and “She’s Got a Way with Words.”

Between songs, he bantered about New York City’s traffic, in addition to encouraging the audience to improve its singing. The singer was completely surprised by the large crowd that gathered at his Brooklyn concert because he never expected country songs to be so popular with New Yorkers.

The concert’s most moving moments were when Shelton sang “Nobody but Me” and “She Wouldn’t be Gone.” Moreover, the talented musician motivated aspiring guitarists with his beautiful guitar playing, while singing “Austin,” the hit song from his 2001 debut album. During the concert, Shelton revealed that “Austin” was one of his personal favorites.

Blake Shelton was accompanied by RaeLynn (Racheal Woodward), a 22-year-old singer who entertained the crowd by singing love ballads and rock songs from her upcoming album. And even though he was performing in New York City, a city known for its nightlife, Blake Shelton celebrated the Southern life by singing the song “Boys Round Here.”
